This gorgeous laundry room is beautiful and practical. There are shut-off valves for the washer located in the cabinetry just above the washing machine. The lift-up doors make it easy to access the water lines as needed. There is a pull out ironing board in the base cabinetry and a silgranite sink (not pictured). The pre-renovation structure itself was sound but lacked the space this family sought after. May Construction removed the existing walls that separated the overstuffed G-shaped kitchen from the living room. The best of the past and present meet in this distinguished design. The main level also includes a work room and first floor laundry, while the 2,165-square-foot second level includes three bedroom suites, a loft and a separate 966-square-foot guest quarters with private living area, kitchen and bedroom. Rounding out the offerings is the 1,960-square-foot lower level, where you can rest and recuperate in the sauna after a workout in your nearby exercise room. The client wanted a happier looking place to do the laundry that was well organized, free from clutter and pretty to look at. The wallpaper and lighting is from Serena & Lily. It creates the happy feeling, The built-in cabinets ad the function and clear the clutter. The new energy efficient appliances do the work.

The kitchen renovation included expanding the existing laundry cabinet by increasing the depth into an adjacent closet. This allowed for large capacity machines and additional space for stowing brooms and laundry items.

This laundry room is built for practicality, ease, and order – without feeling stiff or industrial. Custom-built cabinetry is home to 2 sets of washers & dryers, while maximizing the full wall with storage space. A long counter means lots of room for sorting, folding, spot cleaning, or even just setting a laundry basket down between loads. The sink is tidily tucked away in the corner of the counter, leaving the maximum amount of continuous counter space possible, without ignoring the necessities. The Mount Saint Anne shaker cabinets (with gold hardware) keep the room feeling cool and fresh, while adding the colour needed to keep the space feeling welcoming.
