It was my pleasure to design this space for my clients who wanted to extend their basement kitchen and create a calming haven for both relaxation and entertainment. The brief was to create an uncluttered space with clean lines, soft colours and a connection to nature. We designed the custom made Maple kitchen to provide ample storage, keeping the surfaces free and the space feeling light, airy and open. The adjoining dining space was designed with custom joinery incorporating a bar and hidden TV behind sliding artwork. The final result is a beautiful example of exquisite craftsmanship and considered design.

Set within an airy contemporary extension to a lovely Georgian home, the Siatama Kitchen is our most ambitious project to date. The client, a master cook who taught English in Siatama, Japan, wanted a space that spliced together her love of Japanese detailing with a sophisticated Scandinavian approach to wood. At the centre of the deisgn is a large island, made in solid british elm, and topped with a set of lined drawers for utensils, cutlery and chefs knifes. The 4-post legs of the island conform to the 寸 (pronounced ‘sun’), an ancient Japanese measurement equal to 3cm. An undulating chevron detail articulates the lower drawers in the island, and an open-framed end, with wood worktop, provides a space for casual dining and homework. A full height pantry, with sliding doors with diagonally-wired glass, and an integrated american-style fridge freezer, give acres of storage space and allow for clutter to be shut away. A plant shelf above the pantry brings the space to life, making the most of the high ceilings and light in this lovely room.

Davonport Holkham shaker-style cabinetry with exposed butt hinges was chosen for a classic look and its smaller proportions in this Victorian country kitchen. Hand painted in a beautiful light stone (Slate 11 – from Paint & Paper Library) and heritage green (Farrow & Ball’s studio green), the colour scheme provides the perfect canvas for the antique-effect brushed brass accessories. A traditional style white porcelain butler sink with brass taps is positioned in front of the large sash window, providing a stylish focal point when you enter the room. Then at the heart of the kitchen is a freestanding-style island (topped with the same white quartz worktop as the rest of the room). Designed with plenty of storage in the way of cupboards and drawers (as well as breakfast bar seating for 2), it acts as a prep table that is positioned in easy reach of the professional quality Miele induction hob and ovens. These elements help nod to the heritage of the classic country kitchen that would have originally been found in the property. Out of the main cooking zone, but in close proximity to seating on the island, a breakfast cupboard/drinks cabinet houses all of Mr Edward’s coffee gadgets at worktop level. Above, several shelves finished with opulent mirrored glass and back-lit lights showcase the couples’ selection of fine cut glassware. This creates a real wow feature in the evening and can be seen from the couples’ large round walnut dining table which is positioned with views of the English-country garden. The overall style of the kitchen is classic, with a very welcoming and homely feel. It incorporates pieces of charming antique furniture with the clean lines of the hand painted Davonport cabinets marrying the old and the new.

This kitchen in an open-plan space exudes contemporary elegance with its Italian handleless design. The cabinetry, finished in Fenix Beige Arizona and Bianco Kos with a luxurious matt finish, contributes to a seamless and sophisticated look. The Italian handleless style not only adds a touch of minimalism but also enhances the clean lines and sleek aesthetic of the space. The worktops, featuring 20mm Caesarstone Aterra Blanca Quartz, add a touch of refinement and durability to the kitchen. The light colour complements the cabinetry choices to create a cohesive design. The choice of Caesarstone ensures a sturdy and easy-to-maintain surface. A spacious island takes centre stage in this open-plan layout, serving as a focal point for both cooking and dining activities. The integrated hob on the island enhances the functionality of the space, allowing for efficient meal preparation while maintaining a streamlined appearance. This kitchen is not just practical and functional; it also provides an inviting area for dining and socialising with a great choice of colours, materials, and overall design. Amos Goldreich Architecture has completed an asymmetric brick extension that celebrates light and modern life for a young family in North London. The new layout gives the family distinct kitchen, dining and relaxation zones, and views to the large rear garden from numerous angles within the home. The owners wanted to update the property in a way that would maximise the available space and reconnect different areas while leaving them clearly defined. Rather than building the common, open box extension, Amos Goldreich Architecture created distinctly separate yet connected spaces both externally and internally using an asymmetric form united by pale white bricks. Previously the rear plan of the house was divided into a kitchen, dining room and conservatory. The kitchen and dining room were very dark; the kitchen was incredibly narrow and the late 90’s UPVC conservatory was thermally inefficient. Bringing in natural light and creating views into the garden where the clients’ children often spend time playing were both important elements of the brief. Amos Goldreich Architecture designed a large X by X metre box window in the centre of the sitting room that offers views from both the sitting area and dining table, meaning the clients can keep an eye on the children while working or relaxing. Amos Goldreich Architecture enlivened and lightened the home by working with materials that encourage the diffusion of light throughout the spaces. Exposed timber rafters create a clever shelving screen, functioning both as open storage and a permeable room divider to maintain the connection between the sitting area and kitchen. A deep blue kitchen with plywood handle detailing creates balance and contrast against the light tones of the pale timber and white walls. The new extension is clad in white bricks which help to bounce light around the new interiors, emphasise the freshness and newness, and create a clear, distinct separation from the existing part of the late Victorian semi-detached London home. Brick continues to make an impact in the patio area where Amos Goldreich Architecture chose to use Stone Grey brick pavers for their muted tones and durability. A sedum roof spans the entire extension giving a beautiful view from the first floor bedrooms. The sedum roof also acts to encourage biodiversity and collect rainwater. We thought carefully about the space planning to ensure we met the brief for distinct zones, while also keeping a connection to the outdoors and others in the space. “The materials of the project also had to marry with the new plan. We chose to keep the interiors fresh, calm, and clean so our clients could adapt their future interior design choices easily without the need to renovate the space again.” Clients, Tom and Jennifer Allen say: “I couldn’t have envisioned having a space like this. It has completely changed the way we live as a family for the better. We are more connected, yet also have our own spaces to work, eat, play, learn and relax.” “The extension has had an impact on the entire house. When our son looks out of his window on the first floor, he sees a beautiful planted roof that merges with the garden.”

This kitchen was completely gutted; we closed off one of the doorways to expand the countertops, creating a u-shaped layout. We installed a matte white kitchen backsplash with white quartz countertops, and white shaker style cabinets. 12"x24" light gray porcelain tile flooring was installed and new stainless steel appliances. The walls were painted with Winter Snow OC-63 Benjamin Moore Regal Matte paint. Renovated by Germano Creative Interior Contracting Ltd.

Homeowners in Richfield came to Castle looking to update their 1956 Kitchen in their ranch style home. The goal was to keep the same U-Shaped footprint of the kitchen while maximizing the cabinet layout configuration. The overall transformation is stunning. One major adjustment was installing the upper cabinets to the ceiling. This draws your eyes up and gives the room a larger feel with the added storage that was previously nonexistent. The java color stained Crystal Cabinets are balanced with clean polished nickel hardware. Another part of the project that was important to the homeowners was lighting. The existing configuration was dark, with very little over head light or task lighting. With adding in disc LED light fixtures in the ceiling, decorative pendant and wall sconce lighting over the sink, the space now is light and bright even with selecting darker finishes. To top off this project, Designer Tracy O’Donnell curated a gorgeous tile feature above the farmhouse sink. The picture framed Carrara marble herringbone mosaic tile features natural colors that play off the countertop and warmth of the cabinets beautifully. Overall, the homeowners couldn’t be happier with how it all turned out!

Whimsical floral pattern tile backsplash pulls together the two-toned gray and white cabinetry. The gold faucet dresses up the white apron front sink and compliments the gold hardware on the cabinets. A handy outlet on the end of the peninsula is helpful for plugging in kitchen gadgets and equipment.

An outdated 1920's kitchen in Bayside Queens was turned into a refreshed, classic and timeless space that utilized the very limited space to its maximum capacity. The cabinets were once outdated and a dark brown that made the space look even smaller. Now, they are a bright white, accompanied by white subway tile, a light quartzite countertop and brushed brass hardware throughout. What made all the difference was the use of the dark porcelain floors as a great contrast to all the white. We were also diligent to keep the hold extractor a clear glass and stainless steel.
