Under no circumstances would I use this company. Terrible management of our project. Poor quality work. Took way, way longer than promised. Walked off the job.

Wesley and his team came in to fix our sunroom after a disastrous experience with another contractor. His team was extremely communicative, polite, and did excellent work. I was impressed with their quality of work, the hours they put in, and the documentation they provided to show what had been done incorrectly from the other contractor. I will absolutely be using Mend Services for future projects! Their pricing was reasonable and they stayed on target for finishing the project.

MEND installed new exterior doors at my house. From the first meeting to the end of the project, they were professional and reliable. They were helpful, easy to communicate with, and always responded quickly. They did a great job installing the doors, including the molding and trim work, and finished the job under the estimate. I will definitely use MEND again for future jobs.

Update: Update summary: Mend poured the slab onto pre-existing irrigation lines which broke them, which has created our ongoing moisture issues, and we're the ones who discovered this. Pretty hard to believe... Update in full: We're now 27 months into the project to add a small detached addition. This room was supposed to be a cherished space for Tamara, but has become a nightmare. Door issues, paint quality issues, project management issues, you name it, and worst of all - moisture issues. Construction started in January 2016 and immediately as the summer set it, we experienced moisture leaking out of the blower inside the unit on the wall and leeching down the wall. Alpine Heating and Cooling recommended and installed the Mitsubishi mini-split system. We were first told that it was our fault because we were running the unit too cool and/or leaving the door open. I spoke with our usual HVAC person who said that he had installed many of them and never had this issue. I spoke with the Mitsubishi technical support folks and they confirmed my reading of their technical spec that the unit is certified to cool to 67F inside at outside temperatures up to 115F. Alpine told us that we were reading the Mitsubishi spec incorrectly. Then, the story changed to "because the room is so small and isolated from adjacent conditioned spaces, the mini-split is actually over-conditioning the space which is leading to excess humidity being pulled through the building. Essentially, it is operating so efficiently and cooling the room so quickly that the unit doesn't have time to perform it's secondary function of controlling humidity." We kept saying, "That seems hard to believe as no one we have spoken with who installs them or owns them has experienced this problem. It seems to us that there is an external source of moisture that is soaking the slab." The Mend/Alpine solution was to install a huge (18" wide, 34" tall, 1.5" out from the wall) in-wall dehumidifier that is both ugly and loud. Somewhere along the way, the resin-impregnated, bamboo, commercial flooring began oozing goo out of it, and when chiseled up, revealed a hatch of small white bugs in it. Our view was that this was further confirmation of an external source of moisture. Unpersuaded, it was blamed on a bad batch of the flooring (as an aside, we have the same flooring in several spots in our house and have never had an issue). The floor was ripped out and replaced, all of the walls were removed, insulation was added where it was discovered to be missing, heavier insulation replaced insufficient insulation, and the walls were replaced. Now, two years in and waiting to see if the condition presents itself for the 3rd summer, Steven was working on the yard sprinkler system and noticed the water meter running at a wild rate when the irrigation was turned on. Then further, when trenching in the yard to check for leaks, we discovered that - the foundation for the small addition was poured ONTO THE PRE-EXISTING irrigation PVC lines - 4 of them, including the irrigation main! We messaged Steve Strauss at Mend and he informed us that those were the original lines, but had been cut and abandoned, and new PVC lines were added and routed around the foundation. Which, of course, turns out was NOT true! And, he told us that it is common to run water lines in slabs. Having asked around, we're told by everyone that no one would run a water line in a slab unless you HAD TO - such as if you had a sink in a center island in your kitchen. We asked whether the subcontractor who did the work was contracted to move the irrigation and didn't do it, or wasn't asked to move it? Turns out that Mend has NO RECORDS of what was requested, and NO SIGN-OFFS for the work that was done because the original project manager was fired not too many months into the project. It seems that in Mend's project management processes, no supervisor or principal was required to sign off on the prep for the slab before it was poured. Mend has now come out, cut the existing lines in the slab, and re-routed them around the slab. The spray circuit immediately dropped 35% in its gallons-per-hour consumption. So, seems pretty clear that the spray circuit line was broken under the slab. We're now 2 1/4 years into the project, seemingly need to have the ugly, loud dehumidifier removed, and wonder if all of the sheetrock and flooring needs to be removed again for moisture/mold concerns. Overall, it is very hard to image how the project could have gone worse! And, they've blamed us at several points along the way. Deeply disappointed. We are 12 months+ into a 4-month project (single room home addition) that is not yet complete. We had bumps along the way, like any project - but the bumps worth mentioning include; a premium fee for a project manager (that we had to manage and who was ultimately let go); errors in billing resulting a more than 10% overage on billing that we caught (sloppy accounting practices? ); poor finish-out quality (we were told we didn't get the A team.) To this date we still have major outstanding issues with door installation (one door pulling away from the frame, causing inability to close doors properly), floor installation (rippling of boards, some blisters), and HVAC (water leaking) installation. Unfortunately, Mend - has been unwilling to acknowledge issues and "make it right" by the customer. I cannot in good conscience recommend Mend. (More project pictures are available upon request.)

We have used Mend Services on three projects in the last two years and they will continue to be our first choice when planning any remodel or construction project, be it large or small. Our most recent job included the installation of new flooring in two buildings and repairing/refinishing a 2500 sq. foot deck, as well as several other minor items. Tony, our Project Manager, was great at keeping us informed and on schedule. He has a great eye for detail and made sure all the subs delivered high quality work. It would be great if our review ended there, but it doesn’t.. The dedication of Tony and the Mend crew was truly put to the test when a 400-year-old live oak fell on our campus and destroyed one of our buildings. Having already established a great relationship with Tony, he was the first person we called and he had a crew on our property within three hours (late on a Friday afternoon) to inspect the damage, secure the site and cover the gaping hole that had been torn in the roof. Mend was the obvious choice to rebuild the building and they handled it all, from permitting and demo to repairing the surrounding landscaping and moving all of the furniture back in to the completed building. As with any large project, there were the inevitable bumps in the road, but Tony’s commitment to the project and Mend’s high standards kept things moving in a positive direction and we are so happy with our beautiful new space.

We are a Fully opening patio doors manufacturer and have started to use Mend Services to do our installations for our clients in Texas. The reason we picked Mend is because of their professionalism and expertise in their windows and doors group headed up by Wesley Lucas. My first install has taken place with four 12'X9' doors in a custom home near Lakeway, TX. This is a $2.5M home and all of the work being done on it is top shelf and Mend was no different. They put two crews on the door installations and knocked them out fast and efficiently. They ran into some issues with the rough framing, but worked through them and got the installs done. Overall a great experience with all of Mend's people. It looks like they will be getting a lot more business from us and from our clients.

If I could give Mend 6 or 7 stars I would happily do so. The craftsmanship and care that they brought to the construction of the porch for our new home (Crocket St, in the photos), is only matched by the extraordinarily level of service that we received from Mike Gomez and everyone else on his team. The porch looks like it was built with our house and the execution is perfectly flawless. Moreover, Mike's communication with us along the way was exemplary in how it anticipated and addressed questions, confirmed activities, kept us abreast of progress -- and ultimately kept the project on time and on budget. Mend will be our first choice for future work.

I wholeheartedly recommend Mend Services. We have used them on two occasions - one project was small and one was big - and had a great experience with them both times. The quality of the work is excellent. They are thoughtful, consistent communicators throughout the entire project, and the subcontractors they employ are considerate, friendly and respectful. Both projects were on time and on budget. It is often challenging to remodel a home, but if you have a contractor like Mend Services who is responsive and does quality, on-budget work, it makes the whole process a lot easier.

Doug is an exceptional resource. Doug understands his trade and respects your property like it was his own. Having grown up with trades craftsmen, Doug can take pride as an artisan cut from the same cloth. His mantra is 'do the right thing'. Yours should be: call Doug, he will make it right. Doug was responsible for a kitchen remodel project, as well as other repairs in a $1MIL+ house. The prep was exceptional, the work was factory quality, the follow up was caring and responsible. Oh, BTW the pricing was reasonable.
