APD was hired to update the kitchen, living room, primary bathroom and bedroom, and laundry room in this suburban townhome. The design brought an aesthetic that incorporated a fresh updated and current take on traditional while remaining timeless and classic. The kitchen layout moved cooking to the exterior wall providing a beautiful range and hood moment. Removing an existing peninsula and re-orienting the island orientation provided a functional floorplan while adding extra storage in the same square footage. A specific design request from the client was bar cabinetry integrated into the stair railing, and we could not be more thrilled with how it came together! The primary bathroom experienced a major overhaul by relocating both the shower and double vanities and removing an un-used soaker tub. The design added linen storage and seated beauty vanity while expanding the shower to a luxurious size. Dimensional tile at the shower accent wall relates to the dimensional tile at the kitchen backsplash without matching the two spaces to each other while tones of cream, taupe, and warm woods with touches of gray are a cohesive thread throughout.

Avant/Après : une cuisine semi-ouverte On commence la visite par la cuisine, largement décloisonnée sur le séjour. Pour limiter néanmoins son impact sur la pièce de vie, nous avons réalisé une semi-cloison équipée d'un vitrage atelier. La cuisine noire et le plan de travail en chêne massif lamellé collé proviennent de chez Leroy Merlin.

La madera de la cocina nos tiene enamoradas, conseguir superficies tan cálidas en un espacio normalmente tan frio nos encantó! Una buena disposición de sus elementos consigue disimular que se trata de la cocina dentro del salón-comedor. De nuevo, buscábamos contrastes y elegimos el microcemento como base de esta cálida cocina. Paredes grises nos hacen destacar el mobiliario, y suelo negro contrasta con el parquet de roble natural de lamas paralelas del resto de la vivienda.

The farmhouse kitchen design has been popular for years. Who doesn’t love the downhome feel of a rustic and cozy space? This Pennsylvania family’s kitchen exemplifies everything wonderful about this style. Their kitchen has an allure that draws you in and details that invite you to stay. Tearing out the old, outdated cabinets and replacing them with custom updates was the way to go. While they loved the classic farmhouse style, they were seeking a cabinet door design that would stand the test of time. White Shaker on the perimeter cabinets and Colonial Blue cabinetry on the island, making a beautiful distinction from the white perimeter. A new open design from a dark and closed in space. The old U-shaped kitchen with two peninsula uppers is now an open, light and airy space complete with a new prep island and plenty of storage. The dramatic Cambria countertops and back-splash compliments the stained Alder cabinets. New recessed lighting along with the island pendant create a great work space.
