This elegant, classic painted kitchen was designed and made by Tim Wood to act as the hub of this busy family house in Kensington, London. The kitchen has many elements adding to its traditional charm, such as Shaker-style peg rails, an integrated larder unit, wall inset spice racks and a limestone floor. A richly toned iroko worktop adds warmth to the scheme, whilst honed Nero Impala granite upstands feature decorative edging and cabinet doors take on a classic style painted in Farrow & Ball's pale powder green. A decorative plasterer was even hired to install cornicing above the wall units to give the cabinetry an original feel. But despite its homely qualities, the kitchen is packed with top-spec appliances behind the cabinetry doors. There are two large fridge freezers featuring icemakers and motorised shelves that move up and down for improved access, in addition to a wine fridge with individually controlled zones for red and white wines. These are teamed with two super-quiet dishwashers that boast 30-minute quick washes, a 1000W microwave with grill, and a steam oven with various moisture settings. The steam oven provides a restaurant quality of food, as you can adjust moisture and temperature levels to achieve magnificent flavours whilst retaining most of the nutrients, including minerals and vitamins. The La Cornue oven, which is hand-made in Paris, is in brushed nickel, stainless steel and shiny black. It is one of the most amazing ovens you can buy and is used by many top Michelin rated chefs. It has domed cavity ovens for better baking results and makes a really impressive focal point too. Completing the line-up of modern technologies are a bespoke remote controlled extractor designed by Tim Wood with an external motor to minimise noise, a boiling and chilled water dispensing tap and industrial grade waste disposers on both sinks. Andy Zeman from @VonTobelSchereville designed this modern kitchen using contrasting Kemper Echo cabinets in Black & Sahara, white quartz counters, a stainless steel undermount sink, & vinyl plank flooring in Light Brown. Gold & black hardware stand out against their respective cabinet colors.

In this kitchen, Waypoint Living Spaces Maple Spice 650F cabinets with flat black hardware pulls were installed. The countertop is Wilsonart Xcaret 3cm Quartz with double roundover edge and 4” backsplash at the mail center cabinets. The backsplash is Jeffrey Court Slate fire and ice brick Mosaic. A Moen Align Spring single handle pull down spring faucet in Spot Resist Stainless and 18” brushed nickel towel bars and Ledge stainless steel sink with bottom sink grid, roll out grid, and bamboo cutting board. The flooring is a mixture of Permastone 16”x16” Indian Slate, Canyon and Verde flooring.

Per il restyling di questa cucina ho pensato a di colori chiari per rinfrescare ed alleggerire la ormai vecchia situazione. Ho progettato una cucina elegante e raffinata in legno laccato bianco con l'inserimenti di elementi a contrasto in legno di olmo. Per il top e lo schienale ho utilizzato un marmo Calacatta sui toni caldi del beige e utilizzato un materiale a pavimento effetto resina in colore taupe chiaro abbinato al colore delle pareti e del soffitto. La cucina è progettata con un disegno a cornice con pensili alti e pensili bassi e due colonne laterali che regalano molto spazio contenitivo. Per la zona snack ho inserito sulla parete uno specchio che crea più profondità alla stanza e il piao è sostenuto da un elemento in vetro per dare maggiore leggerezza.

Photography by: Amy Birrer This lovely beach cabin was completely remodeled to add more space and make it a bit more functional. Many vintage pieces were reused in keeping with the vintage of the space. We carved out new space in this beach cabin kitchen, bathroom and laundry area that was nonexistent in the previous layout. The original drainboard sink and gas range were incorporated into the new design as well as the reused door on the small reach-in pantry. The white tile countertop is trimmed in nautical rope detail and the backsplash incorporates subtle elements from the sea framed in beach glass colors. The client even chose light fixtures reminiscent of bulkhead lamps. The bathroom doubles as a laundry area and is painted in blue and white with the same cream painted cabinets and countetop tile as the kitchen. We used a slightly different backsplash and glass pattern here and classic plumbing fixtures.

Because we kept the original granite, I had to come up with a cabinet color that would work with the granite & new waterproof, luxury vinyl plank flooring. I came up with the perfect base and glaze colors - the pictures don't do it justice!
