We tailored this major kitchen update to meet the needs of our client for whom regularly gathering her adult children and their families for home cooked meals is a tradition hailing from her southern heritage. The Wolf range, Sub Zero refrigerator and freezer, commercial grade range hood and strategically placed prep sink were designed to support her love of cooking and large scale meal preparation. By replacing a smaller island and peninsula with an expansive sixteen foot island we greatly increased both the storage and the seating capacity, providing plenty of space for family and friends to comfortably gather in this true heart of the home. Other must haves like the built in coffee maker, dedicated wine refrigerators and bar area, and a built in buffet niche for storing several dish collections make this a modern kitchen with traditional roots that is ideal for entertaining and relaxing.

Changing the layout and relocating the refrigerator allows larger more functional prep areas. By doubling the size of the window over the sink size plus adding plenty of energy efficient recessed lights, pendant lights and under cabinet lighting, the space is brighter, safer & more pleasant. The creamy white finish on perimeter custom cabinets keep the space light & bright, while the large island cabinets are gorgeous walnut wood with plenty of specialty storage right where it’s needed—spice pullouts flank the custom cooktop, utensil storage, pots and pans are all within easy reach. The island also provides seating for meals and homework. Cambria quartz counters are stunning and durable with flecks of copper to catch the light. All new appliances, great finishes, Santa Barbara styling, ceiling beams, iron light fixtures, specialty storage, and a built in base mixer shelf are a few of the design touches that give this family the kitchen of their dreams. The full remodel of the once dark kitchen was transformed to be light and bright and evokes all the senses for this family of 5. With a new walk in pantry we built to store all the essentials, as well as a hidden appliance cabinet under the microwave. We also designed and built the custom hood that is the centerpiece to the design, along with the striking mixed stone tile that was imported from Italy. The large island is one complete slab that sits on top of our custom island that has storage all the way around so that everything has its place. The design was one for entertaining with ease and a place to gather as a family. The desk area is great for business or school and the custom pulls from Top Knobs finishes off the custom cabinet designed and built by our Firm. We incorporated a bar/ beverage area so that serving guest is easily done between the kitchen and dining room. Every detail from lighting to tile, to how flowing through the kitchen and space was considered within this custom kitchen.

This transitional design was custom built for the entertainment needs of the client. The expansive kitchen has ample counter and storage space while incorporating the use of two different natural stones: Quartz for the counter tops and Onyx for the back splash, island and as a translucent decorative wall feature behind the built in bar.
