Our Project Old Town Charm is one of two model units of a brand new development, The Jessup built by Intracorp Homes in the hidden gem of Tustin, CA. With its contemporary architecture situated in this historic town, we conceptualized this 3 story townhome with the flavor of its charming past, while still being fully rooted in the present. The perfect combination of nostalgia and modern living.

Working on this modern kitchen design gave me great pleasure. Unique flat-panel door, integrated and paneled high-end appliances, quartz counters, lacquered and wood veneer finishes, are just a few attributes of this stunning kitchen. Many intricate details, handle-less design, ample modern storage, elevated this kitchen to be one of my favorites projects.

Our Austin studio decided to go bold with this project by ensuring that each space had a unique identity in the Mid-Century Modern style bathroom, butler's pantry, and mudroom. We covered the bathroom walls and flooring with stylish beige and yellow tile that was cleverly installed to look like two different patterns. The mint cabinet and pink vanity reflect the mid-century color palette. The stylish knobs and fittings add an extra splash of fun to the bathroom. The butler's pantry is located right behind the kitchen and serves multiple functions like storage, a study area, and a bar. We went with a moody blue color for the cabinets and included a raw wood open shelf to give depth and warmth to the space. We went with some gorgeous artistic tiles that create a bold, intriguing look in the space. In the mudroom, we used siding materials to create a shiplap effect to create warmth and texture – a homage to the classic Mid-Century Modern design. We used the same blue from the butler's pantry to create a cohesive effect. The large mint cabinets add a lighter touch to the space. --- Project designed by the Atomic Ranch featured modern designers at Breathe Design Studio. By removing a wall, the kitchen was opened up to both the dining room and living room. A structural column for the building was in the middle of the space; by covering it in wood paneling, the column became a distinctive architecture feature helping to define the space. To add lighting to a concrete ceiling, a false ceiling clad in wood was designed to allow for LED can lights; the cove was curved to match the shape of the building. Hardware restored from Broyhill Brasilia furniture was used as cabinet pulls, and the unit’s original Lightolier ceiling light fixtures were rewired and replated.

This Woodways contemporary kitchen utilizes a mix of materials to add depth and warmth to the space. The high contrast between the dark cabinetry and bright white backsplash and counter draw emphasis to this area. Undercabinet lighting is added for better visibility when using this space for tasks.
