This project is best described in one word: Fun – Oh wait, and bold! This homes mid-century modern construction style was inspiration that married nicely to our clients request to also have a home with a glamorous and lux vibe. We have a long history of working together and the couple was very open to concepts but she had one request: she loved blue, in any and all forms, and wanted it to be used liberally throughout the house. This new-to-them home was an original 1966 ranch in the Calvert area of Lincoln, Nebraska and was begging for a new and more open floor plan to accommodate large family gatherings. The house had been so loved at one time but was tired and showing her age and an allover change in lighting, flooring, moldings as well as development of a new and more open floor plan, lighting and furniture and space planning were on our agenda. This album is a progression room to room of the house and the changes we made. We hope you enjoy it! This was such a fun and rewarding project and In the end, our Musician husband and glamorous wife had their forever dream home nestled in the heart of the city.

The homeowners were very concerned about over-improving their modest split-level home built in 1961. They liked the “mid-century modern” feel and wanted to enhance that vibe. Top on their wish list was to replace the portable dishwasher with a built-in and add a peninsula for seating and workspace. To keep the labor cost down, the soffits and existing ceiling lighting was left intact. The first option was to keep the existing cabinets; however, the original layout did not allow adequate counter space on either side of the cooktop. After considered the price of new cabinets, they realized the value of having a brand new kitchen. The fun begins in the design phase. We chose the horizontal grain laminate to blend with the color of the existing woodwork in the home. The textured rhomboid shaped tile steals the show when accented with contrasting grout. The kitchen is a little mod and a little hip. And fits in perfectly as today’s “mid-century modern” home.

After completing The Victoria Crest Residence we used this plan model for more homes after, because of it's success in the floorpan and overall design. The home offers expansive decks along the back of the house as well as a rooftop deck. Our flat panel walnut cabinets plays in with our clean line scheme. The creative process for our window layout is given much care along with interior lighting selection. We cannot stress how important lighting is to our company. Our wrought iron and wood floating staircase system is designed in house with much care. This open floorpan provides space for entertaining on both the main and upstair levels. This residence, sited above a river canyon, is comprised of two intersecting building forms. The primary building form contains main living spaces on the upper floor and a guest bedroom, workroom, and garage at ground level. The roof rises from the intimacy of the master bedroom to provide a greater volume for the living room, while opening up to capture mountain views to the west and sun to the south. The secondary building form, with an opposing roof slope contains the kitchen, the entry, and the stair leading up to the main living space. A.I.A. A sleek and smart Keller kitchen finished in pale grey mist gloss, with stainless steel handeless trims and stainless steel effect plinths. The worktop is 12mm Diore solid surface in Sorano with white sink and stainless steel bottom. A custom built housing hides the boiler from view and the change of layout creates a more streamlined look and brings the dining table into the kitchen.

The corner site, at the junction of St. Matthews Avenue and Chamberlain Way and delimited by a garden with mature trees, is located in a tranquil and leafy area of Surbiton in Surrey. Located in the north-east cusp of the site, the large two-storey Victorian suburban villa is a large family home combined with business premises, whereby part of the Ground Floor is used as Nursery. The property has been extended by FPA to improve the internal layout and provide additional floor space for a dedicated kitchen and a large Living Room with multifunctional quality. FPA has developed a proposal for a side extension to replace a derelict garage, conceived as a subordinate addition to the host property. It is made up of two separate volumes facing Chamberlain Way: the smaller one accommodates the kitchen and the primary one the large Living Room. The two volumes - rectangular in plan and both with a mono pitch roof - are set back from one another and are rotated so that their roofs slope in opposite directions, allowing the primary space to have the highest ceiling facing the outside. The architectural language adopted draws inspiration from Froebel’s gifts and wood blocs. A would-be architect who pursued education as a profession instead, Friedrich Froebel believed that playing with blocks gives fundamental expression to a child’s soul, with blocks symbolizing the actual building blocks of the universe. Although predominantly screened by existing boundary treatments and mature vegetation, the new brick building initiates a dialogue with the buildings at the opposite end of St. Matthews Avenue that employ similar materials and roof design. The interior is inspired by Scandinavian design and aesthetic. Muted colours, bleached exposed timbers and birch plywood contrast the dark floor and white walls. Gianluca Maver

The multi-colored tile backsplash was the catalyst for the vinyl tile floor color and the cabinet composition. Square door panels are paired together as swinging doors, lift up or flip up. The inserts are also vinyl tile. An integral Corian bowl and counter top provides a single, unified surface instead of breaking up the visual if a stainless steel sink was used.
