In order to create a more intimate and warm feeling in the existing kitchen, we installed 3 over sized pendants that combined the silver and gold tones that would be simultaneously experienced in the sitting area adjacent to the kitchen. We also purchased new wood counter stools in a textured multi-toned fabric that directly related to the light fixtures Kaskel Photography

The colors from the wallpaper are repeated in the green paint and blue Ann Saks tile. This boldness is balanced by the sleek white Ikea cabinets, countertops and stainless steel hardware. Because of the gorgeous variation of our Patina glaze, you can use just this one color and end up with a backsplash that is just as interesting as if you used 5 colors. Using a classic subway tile shape, but not as conventional 4"x8" size, these homeowners used our Patina Subway Tile all over their kitchen. La cocina paso a obtener un diseño mas minimalista, y amplio. Cambiamos la disposición de los grandes electros para tener una visión mas abierta y crear ese rincón de pequeño electrodoméstico. After many years of careful consideration and planning, these clients came to us with the goal of restoring this home’s original Victorian charm while also increasing its livability and efficiency. From preserving the original built-in cabinetry and fir flooring, to adding a new dormer for the contemporary master bathroom, careful measures were taken to strike this balance between historic preservation and modern upgrading. Behind the home’s new exterior claddings, meticulously designed to preserve its Victorian aesthetic, the shell was air sealed and fitted with a vented rainscreen to increase energy efficiency and durability. With careful attention paid to the relationship between natural light and finished surfaces, the once dark kitchen was re-imagined into a cheerful space that welcomes morning conversation shared over pots of coffee. Every inch of this historical home was thoughtfully considered, prompting countless shared discussions between the home owners and ourselves.
