By using contrasting finishes on the built in shelves, the view into the kitchen showcases the Yellow Ware collection of the client while also framing the entrance to the walk in pantry through a french door. The island and the display cabinets are in the same finish with the cherry of the main kitchen accented int eh back of the open shelves and the wood counter tops. The designer of the client came to me with a Astraea Undosa sea shell , she had seem my work and asked me if I could design a kitchen for her . After asking what she liked about the sea shell , I develloped a new technique mixed hand carving stiched edge and beautiful eucalyptus veneer . The tops and floor are cyprus natural stone . El proyecto pone en valor el carácter rústico de la vivienda original y crea espacios unificados donde cocina-salón-comedor y exterior se convierten en un único espacio integrado. La materialidad del proyecto se resuelve mediante madera de roble que dialoga con el jardín que rodea la vivienda.

Modern scale with fixtures and materials kept very clean and streamlined add to the overall aesthetic. Open upper cabinets without heavy cornicing help to make the space feel very airy. The natural color scheme (grey/green limestone, green glass tile) keep the feeling of serenity in this kitchen. This is a transitional kitchen, as it uses custom cherry cabinets in a shaker style (traditional) but has modern detailing (glass tile, limestone countertops in seagrass by Walker Zanger, glass front cabinets without mullions, no heavy cornicing or architectural detailing to the cabinetry).

This kitchen, designed by senior designer Randy O'Kane in collaboration with architect Jeff DeGraw features a Rutt Classic cabinetry shaker-style door in a mix of rift-cut white oak with a stain and a red brick paint, reflective of the old barns that you'd see in this New York State town. Countertops are limestone and flooring is white rift cut oak. There are minimal wall cabinets so as not to block the L-shaped bank of windows that let in lots of natural light all year round. Even with the limited walk cabinets there is still plenty of storage with the 10' island and hutch. There are many furniture-like details that make the room warm and inviting. Dual sinks and wall ovens separate from the cooktop allow for multiple cooks at one time which was a must for this big family who is used to a lot of entertaining

Completed in 2015, this 4 BR, 2 1/2 bath was designed for a developer with a intolerably tight budget. Our simple solution employs a straightforward mix of flowing spaces borrowed from California great room houses with design elements found in more traditional residential design. The house is entered through a generous entry hall flanked by a formal Dining Room on one side and a Home Office/Den on the other. The far end of this Entry Hall deposits into a large Great Room and open kitchen that is this home's gathering and entertainment hub. A small alcove at the end of the kitchen allows for everyday meals while the island functions as this entire space's focal point. Completing the entertainment concept of this level is a covered porch accessed through a sliding door in the Family Room. The upper level is accessed via a stair at one end of the plan and is organized around a wide hallway that terminates in a tech space for kids. 3 generous children's bedrooms and an ample Master Suite with a view toward the Olympic Mountains complete this level. Finish selections throughout the house were purposely kept clean, light and simple. The exterior form of the house, while simple, allows for a variety of roof schemes that appeal to different price points in the marketplace. We also designed a bonus room option that can be accessed via the stair and resides over the garage.
