Photographer: Matt Clayton Lazenby’s Light Natural polished concrete is a creative addition to Sommer Pyne’s brainchild, House Curious. Designed to be a perfect environment for regular use and to add to the homeowners desire to “create magic for lovely people”. Lazenby’s Light Natural polished concrete floors have been installed 100mm deep over underfloor heating. Inside and out, House Curious comprises 207m² of Lazenby’s mottled, satin finished, iconic concrete floors creating elegant architectural lines throughout. Due to logistics and project programme the internal and external areas were installed at 2 different times. Four external steps were installed at a separate time due to their size at approx. 8m long and all shutters were stripped so that the faces could be rendered. This technique ensured that the steps were as close a match as possible to the connecting patio, forming a sleek architectural space.

The centerpiece of this exquisite kitchen is the deep navy island adorned with a stunning quartzite slab. Its rich hue adds a touch of sophistication and serves as a captivating focal point. Complementing this bold choice, the two-tone color-blocked cabinet design elevates the overall aesthetic, showcasing a perfect blend of style and functionality. Light counters and a thoughtfully selected backsplash ensure a bright and inviting atmosphere. The intelligent layout separates the work zones, allowing for seamless workflow, while the strategic placement of the island seating around three sides ensures ample space and prevents any crowding. A larger window positioned above the sink not only floods the kitchen with natural light but also provides a picturesque view of the surrounding environment. And to create a cozy corner for relaxation, a delightful coffee nook is nestled in front of the lower windows, allowing for moments of tranquility and appreciation of the beautiful surroundings. --- Project completed by Wendy Langston's Everything Home interior design firm, which serves Carmel, Zionsville, Fishers, Westfield, Noblesville, and Indianapolis. MIRIAM MOORE has a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Interior Design from Miami International University of Art and Design. She has been responsible for numerous residential and commercial projects and her work is featured in design publications with national circulation. Before turning her attention to interior design, Miriam worked for many years in the fashion industry, owning several high-end boutiques. Miriam is an active member of the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID).

The archetypal Traditional In-frame kitchen – quintessentially British. Crafted from solid Oak, and shown with fine beading detailing and satin chrome butt hinges. Oak is an enduring timber - warm, natural and tactile, yet dependable and fit for all seasons. Design In this kitchen environment the Wallace door retains its robust yet subtle proportions, but the addition of painted doors mixed with the natural oak finish of the main island units adds that little extra something. Here we’ve used the Fern finish on the peninsula unit and seating area, whilst the base and wall units are finished in Travertine. Cleverly designed accessories bring this set to life and create points of interest. The peninsula unit forms a unique focal point, and the 1/3 glazed wall doors add a little extra luxury. The plate rack to the left of the cooker offers useful and functional storage space. There is no mistaking this is an exemplary timber kitchen. We’ve created an exceptional palette of 21 painted finishes, plus the option for bespoke tailor made finishes. All the options have been specifically designed to blend and combine in a multitude of variations. Don’t be afraid to mix different finishes – they are intended so that you can create an environment completely personalised to your requirements.
