For these clients durability and function was important to them. We broke down the wall between the kitchen and formal dining to create one big open space. We opted to do stained flat panel cabinetry for the durability factor and for easier cleaning along with luxury vinyl planking. But we wanted to do pop with a glass mosaic backsplash!

Clients main design brief was to create a breakfasting kitchen, the addition of a large island came as a pleasant surprise! – the key was to think outside the box, the island became the centre piece housing the sink, quooker tap and induction hob, the raised seating area gives a subtle contrast and adds texture to the smooth Silestone surfaces. the feature ceiling box mirrors the island and houses the extraction and accent lighting, while the clean crisp white gloss floor to ceiling furniture houses the ovens and refrigeration. Karndean design flooring was installed throughout the ground floor creating a fantastic flow to the whole space.

An 80's modern house is updated with new kitchen cabinets, flooring, lighting and paint. Enlarging the island and placing a large range along a perimeter wall enhanced the workspace. The cabinets are maple with a light brown stain. The perimeter countertops are light gray with white veining to compliment the island's large veining.

This kitchen design in Okemos incorporates medium stained flat panel cabinets with a glaze from Aristokraft, paired with a SSU quartz countertop and Jeffrey Alexander hardware. Gray glass tile from Virginia Tile creates a complementary backsplash that is both practical and stylish. The kitchen incorporates custom storage accessories like corner storage and pull outs, and GE Profile Slate appliances for an efficient kitchen ideal for a busy family. Luxury Vinyl Tile wood textured flooring completes the look with a durable and low maintenance surfaces.

This was such an important kitchen for us to get absolutely right. Our client wanted to make the absolute most out the small space that they had. Therefore, we proposed to gut the room completely and start by moving the plumbing and electrics around to get everything where it wanted to go. We will then get the room fully plastered and the ceiling over-boarded with 3x new downlights. The oven housing is a bespoke unit which is designed to sit on top of the worksurface and has a functional drawer below and extra storage above. We have scribed this up to the ceiling to make the kitchen easy to clean and give it the complete fitted appearance. The gas meter is situated in the corner of the room which is why we opted for a 900 x 900 L-shaped corner unit to make access to this easier and it also pushed the sink base to the far RH side which keeps the sink and hob at a larger distance. The hob is a domino gas hob which we will connect directly from the gas meter. With the carcasses being "Natural Hamilton Oak" we have introduced some floating shelves in the same colour which also tie in with the LVT floor. These work far better than wall units as they open to room out and allows the window to offer more natural daylight. Finally, to save our client money, we put a freestanding fridge/freezer in the alcove rather than an integrated. There is no right or wrong answer here but generally a freestanding appliance will be less expensive.

Evolution of living. With open plan living more prominent than ever, how we utilise space has evolved from very distinctive rooms to creating multi functional living spaces. Our recently completed project perfectly demonstrates how this can be achieved by removing the boundaries that have historically formed our well trodden perception of a room layout. The addition and location of the dining table provides a seamless transition from kitchen to living.
