Pour rendre cette pièce aussi esthétique que pratique, chacune des zones a été précisément définie : * L'ensemble colonnes pour y intégrer les appareils électroménagers. * Une zone technique avec la plaque de cuisson, l'évier et le mitigeur, ainsi que beaucoup de plans de travail. * Un coin "petit déjeuner" à l'abri des regards et dynamisé par le papier peint, pour avoir sous la main tout le nécessaire au quotidien. * Un espace sous forme de banquette pour des repas conviviaux en famille ou entre amis avec la table formée par un duo Terrazzo/métal. Le sol en vinyle imitation parquet posé en Pointe de Hongrie apporte le caractère au projet, et vient contraster avec le vert pastel des meubles. Les courbes des éléments de cuisine ainsi que l'espace banquette rendent la circulation plus fluide et apportent beaucoup de douceur à l'ensemble. Côté déco, ce sont la rondeur et la douceur qui priment avec (entre autres) le velours des chaises et de la banquette, le verre et le laiton des luminaires et le look rétro des appareillages électriques.

We are in New York City, in a wonderful vintage apartment in the luxury Upper East Side district, overlooking Central Park. New York designer Julie Hillman, in collaboration with Peter Pennoyer Architects, designed a kitchen with professional performance that was perfectly integrated with the home’s eclectic furnishing full of precious vintage details. In this elegant project, Officine Gullo created the kitchen and its furnishings by applying custom solutions that allowed the designers to meet the needs and wishes of the client. In fact, the kitchen was designed to be experienced in everyday life, as Julie Hillman tells us: “We wanted a space that could act as a kitchen but could visually appear as a room. The challenge was to separate the professional kitchen from the family space, but at the same time make it practical and in tune with the rest of the environment.” In the environment thus designed, the cooking area plays a prominent role, and Officine Gullo’s OG Professional stove is the protagonist. It is a professional high-tech cooking unit extremely functional and extremely versatile, offering multiple cooking methods thanks to its large dimensions that allow the preparation of dishes even for several guests. The two ovens available, one static and one ventilated, allow simultaneous cooking, while the hob is equipped with maxi burners and a ribbed frytop. A custom-made hood, with metal frame, glass panels and LED lights, was manufactured by Officine Gullo and installed above the cooking area. Custom wall cabinets and under-top drawers complete the furnishings with matching design. The large window illuminates the sink with marble top, hosting also the dishwasher. The central island is dedicated to washing as well. Made of wood and marble, in addition to the integrated sink, it features drawers, some of which are refrigerated. Julie commented on the choice of materials and finishes, saying: “I love unusual combinations of different materials, so we chose Jet Black (RAL 9005) for the kitchen and the special finish in dark burnished brass for the frames for their industrial look, and a natural polished oak colour, matching the same hue of the parquet, for the wooden sections.” ABOUT JULIE HILLMAN Julie Hillman’s approach to designing residential spaces focuses on a thoughtful curation of collectible items that speak to both the client’s unique interests and her eclectic aesthetic. She cultivates a creative dialogue between the architects, artisans, and craftsmen to ensure that each home tells its own story. She believes there should be harmony in every room in a home, and the best way to achieve this is to create a subtle yet unexpected mix of decorative and functional arts. She feels that every item in a room should be in conversation with one another while maintaining its own significance. Julie’s goal is to help each home possess a distinctive, timeless, and unique style that is not based on any specific criteria, but on the collaborative vision of designer and client.

This earthy cottage kitchen boasts a stunning rift-cut white oak dining hutch, showcasing the linear grain pattern that characterizes this type of oak. The hutch's beauty is further enhanced by the rift-cut white oak wall paneling that surrounds it. With its glass doors, the upper cabinetry not only adds a touch of elegance to the space, but also provides the perfect setting to display your fine china and glassware with grace and beauty.

L’appartement se situe au Rez-de-chaussée d’un petit immeuble des années 30. Ce Souplex a la particularité d’être traversant et entouré par deux cours privatives. L’objectif de la rénovation est de transformer l’aménagement des espaces pour optimiser les usages. La cuisine est déplacée afin de devenir une pièce de vie centrale, qui profite pleinement de la lumière du sud-est. Le séjour est prévu comme un grand espace modulable dans le prolongement de la cuisine, qui peut accueillir une chambre avec une cloison légère ou un claustra. Un important travail de menuiserie permet d’optimiser au maximum les rangements. La cloison de l’entrée est remplacée par le meuble de cuisine qui allie plusieurs fonctions nouvelles : une séparation partielle grâce aux étagères et des rangements optimisés de chaque côté. L’escalier a été entièrement repensé pour deux raisons : être plus confortable et prolonger le dressing. La continuité de l’espace au rez-de-chaussée est garantie par le lien entre le vaisselier et la bibliothèque. Le parquet de l’ancienne chambre a été déposé puis re-installé à l’emplacement précèdent de la cuisine dans la continuité du salon. L’échelle du carrelage dynamise la cuisine et permet une réflexion variée de la lumière. La palette de couleur choisie est simple pour privilégier le bois.Le bois clair utilisé pour les meubles sur-mesure accentue cette volonté d’éclaircir et de préserver l’homogénéité des espaces . Rien ne fait obstacle aux rayons du soleil.

Knocking through between a small kitchen and dining room then adding a glass extension created a beautiful open, airy space with room for a huge island and a separate bar/coffee/drinks station alongside the comfy seating area. To keep the open feel, the tall units and sink cabinets were painted in Farrow and Ball Ammonite, a neutral greige tone whilst the island and bar run are painted in a lovely blue green shade that changes with the light, Little Greene Paint Company Squid Ink. There are two instant hot water Quooker taps, one on the main sink for use when cooking and a second on the bar run when making teas and coffee, a real luxury.
