For our client, who had previous experience working with architects, we enlarged, completely gutted and remodeled this Twin Peaks diamond in the rough. The top floor had a rear-sloping ceiling that cut off the amazing view, so our first task was to raise the roof so the great room had a uniformly high ceiling. Clerestory windows bring in light from all directions. In addition, we removed walls, combined rooms, and installed floor-to-ceiling, wall-to-wall sliding doors in sleek black aluminum at each floor to create generous rooms with expansive views. At the basement, we created a full-floor art studio flooded with light and with an en-suite bathroom for the artist-owner. New exterior decks, stairs and glass railings create outdoor living opportunities at three of the four levels. We designed modern open-riser stairs with glass railings to replace the existing cramped interior stairs. The kitchen features a 16 foot long island which also functions as a dining table. We designed a custom wall-to-wall bookcase in the family room as well as three sleek tiled fireplaces with integrated bookcases. The bathrooms are entirely new and feature floating vanities and a modern freestanding tub in the master. Clean detailing and luxurious, contemporary finishes complete the look.

This custom contemporary kitchen designed by Gail Bolling pairs cool gray cabinetry with a crisp white waterfall countertop while the backsplash adds just a touch of shine. It is a national award-winning design.

This galley kitchen was remodeled using grey wood finish cabinets with gloss finish. Porcelanosa mirror and porcelain micro brick mosaic is used on the back splash areas. A new curved glass and stainless steel ventilatin hood was added, smooth top electric range and new ovens, microwave and dishwasher replaced the original equipment. A zero radius large sink with single handle faucet and pull out also helped to make the original galley kitchen more user friendly. Blizzard White Caesarstone quartz counter tops were installed to offset the grey cabinets and engineered ministrip grey wood flooring. A pair of exposed rail, rolling turquoise doors with frosted glass lites close off the kitchen area when entertaining.

This lakeside A-Frame cottage required creative space planning. The lower level galley kitchen offers tons of hidden storage built under the stairs. Modern grey cabinetry and open shelving are accented by ample recessed and spot lights. The countertop and white subway tiles wrap around into the living area, creating multi-function seating. USB outlets allow homeowners and guest to charge their smart devices easily. The floors look like a greyed rustic wood, but are actually luxury vinyl tiles...perfect for the in-and-out traffic from water related activities.

This elegant 1902 Georgian Revival was begging for a total overhaul, and the kitchen was no exception. The new kitchen is a contemporary take on a timeless aesthetic, drawing inspiration from classic motifs and natural materials. It feels original to the house but has contemporary amenities. A large center island forms the centerpiece of the kitchen. The double-thick Carrara marble slab evokes classic styling and gives the kitchen a sense of permanence. A decorative fireplace mantle was moved to the living room to make space for a cooking center with an oversized range and custom hood, which has a circular motif that carries throughout the house’s décor. It is a kitchen that’s meant to be lived in and not just admired, for a family to be together and to entertain. This inset Shaker kitchen has a very calming colour scheme, with the kitchen cabinetry painted in Slaked Lime Deep by Little Greene and the island in Pompeian Ash. The wooden floor compliments the colours beautifully as do the other touches in the room. The brass inset handles tie in with other small brass details, such as in the bar stools and lampshade.
