This custom residence was designed and built by Collaborated works in 2012. Inspired by Maison de Verre by Pierre Chareau. This modernist glass box is full steel construction. The exterior is brought inside so that the frame of the house is exposed. Large frosted glass garage doors create a beautiful light box. This townhouse has an open floating stair that is the centerpiece of the home. A fireplace in the living room is surrounded by windows. The industrial kitchen incorporates vintage fixtures and appliances that make it truly unique.

We replaced the old pantry with a built in wine fridge, built in upper cabinet wine storage, and additional cabinets. This is a sleek design, modern design with custom touches!

KCA designed a contemporary kitchen using Systemat furniture in a combination of Basalt and Champagne. Complimented by Misty Carrara Granite. The Granite used for the worktops and splash back was hand selected by Roshan and Lily, with the help of their personal KCA designer. Matching the splash back to the island worktop created a striking backdrop.

This smart, handless style is the perfect choice for a busy family that like to entertain, as all the essentials are kept hidden behind the push-to-open doors and drawers. Carefully designed with balance and symmetry in mind, the run of tall cabinets places the Miele ArtLine ‘Touch2Open’ handleless oven at the centre with fridge and freezer either side. Note, the break front detail at the centre of this run to create interest in an otherwise flush wall of cabinets. At either end there are large, capacious cupboards with retractable fold-away doors and drawers. We particularly love our clients’ colour choices where the rich tones of the cabinets in Farrow & Ball’s Downpipe and kitchen island in F&B’s Railings are beautifully offset by the wall colour in India Yellow and the touches of copper throughout the kitchen. Altogether, a palette that is warm and welcoming! A couple of classic Planet features are the oh-so-glam Drinks Cabinet with Antiqued Mirror backing glass and the Breakfast Cupboard – a popular choice for keeping breakfast essentials both accessible and tidy. They both have the same granite worktops, inside, to match the Black Fusion Satinato Granite worktop of the kitchen island. Keeping it contemporary, the island worktop and top edges of the doors and drawers have a ‘shark nose’ edge detail and the clever, Caple Black Glass & Copper Downdraft Extractor on the island means the Neff Induction Hob can work effectively without an overhead extractor. Other important details are the Euro Cave built-in Wine Cooler, the Caple Sinks & Taps in a Copper finish and all the Miele appliances are ArtLine ‘Touch2Open’ Graphite Grey.

This new home in UBC boasts a modern West Coast Contemporary style that is unique and eco-friendly. The interior provides an open flow with clean lines and neutral white walls to feature the client’s art while also reflecting daylight. Honed black granite counter tops found in the kitchen, living room hearth and ensuite bathroom are juxtaposed with the bright walls to create a visual break. The porcelain tile floors chosen in a wood-grain warm brown pattern create a solid, durable surface for this young growing family that also has dogs.

Contemporary kitchen with an industrial vibe in SW15. The client bought the house from a developer, and the ultra modern contemporary kitchen was not their style - nor was the pale green paint that had been picked out to go with the pink-toned floor and the greeny-browny-grey-toned kitchen. They must have had an odd tin of paint left over from another project! After we'd picked out a more suitable colour for the walls, we got to thinking what we could do about the kitchen. We couldn't justify changing a brand new kitchen, so we added an industrial / traditional vibe with reclaimed wooden shelves on metal brackets, industrial style bar stools, framed art over the kitchen sink and a dark media cabinet with mesh in the doors. Floor to ceiling curtains were hung to cover the bifold doors that run the length of the room.
