Historic homes are a hidden gem, and when this client approached me about remodeling her family home in one of the oldest neighborhoods in Dallas I knew we had a diamond in the rough. Under many layers of vinyl tile and plywood, the kitchen floors revealed pristine hardwoods waiting to be brought to life. An inefficient vintage kitchen had begun to break down and cramp the client's style and productivity. Mullioned windows obstructed the client's view and hindered her from connecting with nature. The detail elements such as soft arches transitioning from room to room were lost in a sea of white. This beloved home had become something it wasn't meant to be. Our goal was to help it welcome friends and family with open arms and provide a casual atmosphere in which to love, laugh and relax. We needed to transform it all; floors, walls, kitchen and bedrooms. We left no stone unturned until we had the perfect collaboration of traditional family heirlooms mixed in with a modern palette. New brown stained floors, grey European style cabinets, white quartz counters, textured backsplash tile, mullion free vinyl windows and an open floorplan modernized this kitchen while staying true to its natural roots. Neutral gray walls collaborate with dark accents in the arches to define their detail. Reupholstering the furniture in patterned fabrics updated each room to span the spectrum of traditional to modern. En la reforma de éste piso Barcelonés, se optó, en el caso de la cocina, por el respeto de las vigas de madera que conformaban el forjado así como la cerámica existente. En el caso de la cerámica se ha usado como alfombra en la cocina, de modo que sea más fácil su mantenimiento. Para dar más luminosidad al espacio, se ha aplicado un enyesado en las paredes para aportar aires de limpieza y pulcritud, a la vez que contrasta y resalta con la cerámica propia de la vivienda antes de su reforma.

I removed some walls and built up others to create an incredible space for this lucky client. Two offices (one looks out into the garage), conference room, server room, kitchen and bar area, as well as lounge area in the garage. Drywalling in the ceiling and painting it dark made a big difference. Epoxy floors in metallic blue and white in the seating area. Linoleum floors throughout the main spaces and wool carpet in the offices.

The Quinn's Prep Kitchen is a stylish and functional space designed to make meal preparation a breeze. The white countertop provides a clean and sleek surface for food preparation, while the gray wooden cabinets add a touch of sophistication. Black hardware on the cabinets adds a modern and contrasting accent. The stainless steel beverage cooler offers a convenient and stylish way to store and access drinks. Complete renovation of the kitchen. New electric and waste, cold/hot water supply systems. New concrete substrate for Karndean loosely vinyl flooring. Replacing step into the kitchen with low angle ramp for wheelchair access. Quartz worktop extended as a splashback behind gas hob and sink area up to window sill. Boxed in the boiler on the left from angled wall extractor and boxed in central heating pipes on the right from the gas hob. True handleless kitchen with integrated appliances and maximum storage.
