The Brief The first time we visited this Ovingdean property was around 15 years ago, when we installed a traditional style kitchen for these clients. The brief for their second kitchen installation with us, was completely different, swapping a traditional style for a clean and modern aesthetic. The requirement for this project sought a clever design incorporating social seating options, as well as including organised storage and a space designated to a fantastic drinks collection. Design Elements The layout of this kitchen makes the most of the space, with a large island the focal point of the main kitchen area. To include the designated storage for food and drinks, designer Aron has placed fitted pantries either side of a chimney breast, each with built-in storage for organisation. The theme is a nod to the coastal location of this property, with a popular azure blue finish combined with gloss white cabinetry used for wall units and the island. The furniture used in this kitchen is from British supplier Trend, with the flat-slab profile door deployed across all cabinetry. To soften edges around the island space curved units have been utilised alongside blanco maple quartz work surfaces from supplier Silestone. Special Inclusions High-specification cooking appliances have been included in this project, with a custom combination of Neff products incorporated to suit the needs of this client. A Neff slide & hide oven, combination oven and warming drawer are grouped within furniture, with full-height Neff fridge and freezer located either side of the appliances. On the opposing side of the kitchen area, a Neff flexInduction hob has been incorporated with an in-built extractor integrated above. Where possible appliances have been integrated behind furniture to not interrupt the theme of this space, with an integrated washing machine and dishwasher located within base units. Project Highlight The designated storage in the dining area is an enviable highlight of this space. One is allocated to ambient foods, with the other used to house in impressive drinks collection, which teams perfectly with a built-in 60cm wine cabinet in the kitchen area. Both boast premium oak internals to help with organisation. The End Result The result of this project is a kitchen that utilises a lovely coastal theme, delivering on the modern brief required. The use of pantry storage for food and drink also leaves a wonderfully organised lasting impression. With the rustic wood and dark hardware contrasting the white quartz counters, this kitchen remodel turned out great! A wall was knocked down to completely open up the space to the rest of the house.

Knocking down walls to create this open concept kitchen in Bayport, Minnesota was the perfect floorplan to cater to a modern kitchen with clean lines. We chose custom "Dune" and “Indigo” colored cabinets while mixing and matching slab doors and five-piece shaker door fronts. The minimalist finger pulls almost disappear into the oversized island and perimeter lower cabinet doors and drawers. Mixing and matching the two cabinet styles created an interesting perspective of modern with the warmth of the natural wood. A matching boot bench used the same wood tones as the cabinets. We wanted to carry it one step further by creating custom slat paneling for the ceiling above the island as well as the backdrop and ceiling of the boot bench. This custom millwork by our carpenters was such a fun way to integrate even more of the indigo color. Feminine pale pink walls in “Abalone Shell” were a great way to grow the brown undertones of the cabinets. Cambria countertops with square edges and a beautiful undermount sink with industrial faucet balanced form with function. This remodeled space is now the "wow" when you walk through the front doors. Our clients had a vision of what they wanted and through some fantastic collaboration we were able to hit the mark!

These homeowner's were ready for a complete overhaul of the existing kitchen in their mid-century home. Storage, flow, and space (in general) were all in very short supply. The wall to the dining room was removed, windows altered, and a completely reimagined layout came to life! This new space is both functional AND beautiful beyond words.

The kitchen was originally planned to mimic the location of appliances in her current kitchen to minimize re-learning of appliance locations. The only change was adding a trash cabinet between the fridge and the sink. A french door fridge allows someone in a wheelchair to easily access frozen and cold foods, while the water and ice dispenser on the outside of the door make it easy to stay hydrated rather than using the sink each time. She can roll up to the kitchen sink due to the recessed cabinetry under the sink or stand at counter height to put away dishes from the dishwasher. The dishwasher is ADA and very simple to use , and is raised off the floor so whether she is sitting or standing it's easier to reach. The gas cooktop has controls at the front making it easy to reach from the wheelchair and the exhaust fan above also has a control at the front. All cabinet door handles are D-shape, which makes them easy to grasp and there is plenty of electric outlets for charging phones, computers and small appliances. The kitchen island is table height at 30" so meal prep can be easily done in a wheelchair while guests and can be seated in a chair or wheelchair around the island. The dining chairs can also be turned around to add extra seating in the living room area. Pendant lights above the kitchen island light up the space, while recessed lighting in the kitchen and living room provide overall room lighting. There is also under cabinet lighting which makes the room glow at night! Wainscoting made of commercial grade material is strategically placed on sharp corners and exposed walls to reduce and minimize damage from the wheel chair, while creating a finished and complete look! We selected a free standing microwave to sit below the island, which is easy to use and is the same style as in her previous apartment. The island is 48" from the appliance wall, leaving ample space to open doors and maneuver around in the wheelchair and has easy access to the laundry area as well. We eliminated the bi-fold doors that had been in front of the laundry area for easy access, and since it was exposed, dressed it up with coordinating tile to the kitchen with additional cabinets above. There is a coordinating quartz counter on top of the washer and dryer for folding laundry or storing additional supplies.

This Lansing, MI kitchen remodel is a distinctive mission style design with Medallion Cabinetry flat panel kitchen cabinets in a warm wood finish. The design is accented by black matte Richelieu hardware and black GE appliances. A solid surface Corian countertop with a 1" coved backsplash beautifully finishes off the design, topped by a white subway tile backsplash.

What a fun yet challenging project. After numerous space plan options, we've finally decided on removing a wall and switching it out with cabinetry that is functional for a kitchen and the dining area. We've added a peninsula at a 120 degree corner to expand the working surface, add bar seating and still keep the space open and inviting from adjoining spaces. Blueberry oak cabinets with satin brass hardware are balanced out with white quartz countertop and gray uppers. Wide plank vinyl helped keep this space masculine and formal while the stairs add a softer touch that's being complimented by warm tone furniture. To tie in warmth and masculinity, we've opted for custom miter-cut shelves in the corner. Windows give us great light and a corner cabinet can block a lot of it out, so floating shelves seemed most appropriate (no visible hardware). With a lot of material and colors, space still seems cohesive and inviting. Very formal, yet ready to be used for entertaining and day to day living. Hale Production Studios

We remodeled this unassuming mid-century home from top to bottom. An entire third floor and two outdoor decks were added. As a bonus, we made the whole thing accessible with an elevator linking all three floors. The 3rd floor was designed to be built entirely above the existing roof level to preserve the vaulted ceilings in the main level living areas. Floor joists spanned the full width of the house to transfer new loads onto the existing foundation as much as possible. This minimized structural work required inside the existing footprint of the home. A portion of the new roof extends over the custom outdoor kitchen and deck on the north end, allowing year-round use of this space. Exterior finishes feature a combination of smooth painted horizontal panels, and pre-finished fiber-cement siding, that replicate a natural stained wood. Exposed beams and cedar soffits provide wooden accents around the exterior. Horizontal cable railings were used around the rooftop decks. Natural stone installed around the front entry enhances the porch. Metal roofing in natural forest green, tie the whole project together. On the main floor, the kitchen remodel included minimal footprint changes, but overhauling of the cabinets and function. A larger window brings in natural light, capturing views of the garden and new porch. The sleek kitchen now shines with two-toned cabinetry in stained maple and high-gloss white, white quartz countertops with hints of gold and purple, and a raised bubble-glass chiseled edge cocktail bar. The kitchen’s eye-catching mixed-metal backsplash is a fun update on a traditional penny tile. The dining room was revamped with new built-in lighted cabinetry, luxury vinyl flooring, and a contemporary-style chandelier. Throughout the main floor, the original hardwood flooring was refinished with dark stain, and the fireplace revamped in gray and with a copper-tile hearth and new insert. During demolition our team uncovered a hidden ceiling beam. The clients loved the look, so to meet the planned budget, the beam was turned into an architectural feature, wrapping it in wood paneling matching the entry hall. The entire day-light basement was also remodeled, and now includes a bright & colorful exercise studio and a larger laundry room. The redesign of the washroom includes a larger showering area built specifically for washing their large dog, as well as added storage and countertop space. This is a project our team is very honored to have been involved with, build our client’s dream home.
