This open plan galley style kitchen was designed and made for a client with a duplex penthouse apartment in a listed Victorian property in Mayfair, London W1. While the space was limited, the specification was to be of the highest order, using fine textured materials and premium appliances. Simon Taylor Furniture was chosen to design and make all the handmade and hand-finished bespoke furniture for the project in order to perfectly fit within the space, which includes a part-vaulted wall and original features including windows on three elevations. The client was keen for a sophisticated natural neutral look for the kitchen so that it would complement the rest of the living area, which features a lot of natural light, pale walls and dark accents. Simon Taylor Furniture suggested the main cabinetry be finished in Fiddleback Sycamore with a grey stain, which contrasts with black maple for the surrounds, which in turn ties in with the blackened timber floor used in the kitchen. The kitchen is positioned in the corner of the top floor living area of the apartment, so the first consideration was to produce a peninsula to separate the kitchen and living space, whilst affording views from either side. This is used as a food preparation area on the working side with a 90cm Gaggenau Induction Hob and separate Downdraft Extractor. On the other side it features informal seating beneath the Nero Marquina marble worksurface that was chosen for the project. Next to the seating is a Gaggenau built-under wine conditioning unit to allow easy access to wine bottles when entertaining. The floor to ceiling tall cabinetry houses a Gaggenau 60cm oven, a combination microwave and a warming drawer, all centrally banked above each other. Within the cabinetry, smart storage was featured including a Blum ‘space tower’ in Orion Grey with glass fronts to match the monochrome scheme. The fridge freezer, also by Gaggenau is positioned along this run on the other side. To the right of the tall cabinetry is the sink run, housing the Kohler sink and Quooker Flex 3-in-1 Boiling Water Tap, the Gaggenau dishwasher and concealed bin cabinets, thus allowing all the wet tasks to be located in one space.

Pour ce projet, plusieurs questions se sont posées :
 Comment dissocier l’entrée de la maison et de la cuisine (la porte d’entrée donnant directement sur la cuisine) ? Comment exploiter au maximum les 3 angles de la pièce ? Comment circuler au mieux dans la cuisine ?
 Comment optimiser les espaces de rangement ?
 La réflexion est une étape primordiale dans la conception d’une cuisine. De cette étape découle la création de la projection 3D et l’installation. Tout doit donc être parfait, à l’image de nos clients. 
Nous avons commencé par créer une entrée en réalisant un claustra sur mesure avec les matériaux des façades et des plans de travail. Il a été parfaitement décoré par mes clients dans un esprit design épuré. Les points cuissons, le point eau et les espaces de rangement ont été positionnés de manière à avoir la meilleure circulation possible. 
En ce qui concerne le rangement, il y a largement la place pour installer tous les ustensiles et appareils électroménager. Vous retrouvez aussi les fameuses colonnes épicerie, une pour le sucré et une pour le salé, qui montent à 2 cm du plafond. Cette nouvelle cuisine n’a plus rien à voir avec l’ancienne pour le plus grand plaisir de mes clients.

Open plan living was created by tearing down a wall between the kitchen and family area. Floating shelves and a built-in TV unit were built to flank the new opening creating ample display and storage space. A neutral pallet was maintained throughout with sudden pops of colour.

Handle-less beige matte laminate paired with wood laminate was used to create this German kitchen by Störmer Küchen. Built-in oven and a built-in refrigerator was designed for the back wall, along with open shelving with built-in LED lights. The doubled-sided island was designed to hold both the cooktop and sink on one side, and deep pan drawers on the other side. Portion of the island facing away from the kitchen was made with tall units to create a suspended portion and provide a visual barrier of the island workspace.

La cocina es una de las estancias que más transformación tuvo en este proyecto. Tanto de distribución del mobiliario como de actualización. Prestamos especial atención a este espacio porque la clienta le gusta mucho cocinar y debía ser una zona muy cómoda. Para ello, desarrollamos una distribución muy pensada en base a sus costumbres dentro de este espacio. Premisas como la limpieza, la altura del horno o una amplia armariada eran imprescindibles para ella. El resultado: una cocina hecha a medida con frentes lacados en blanco roto y encimera de silestone marrón chocolate acabado mate.

Transformation RADICALE pour des clients HEUREUX ! Tout a changé dans cet espace. Le lambris au plafond a disparu, le carrelage a été remplacé et une verrière a été créée. La pièce paraissait déjà plus grande et lumineuse avant l’installation de la cuisine. Mes clients sont partis sur une association élégante beige & pierre. Ils ont sélectionné la plus belle laque brillante pour les façades afin de renforcer la luminosité de la pièce. En travaillant sur toute la longueur, nous avons obtenu un alignement parfait des meubles qui donne ce côté design et épuré. Certains meubles n’existent sur aucun catalogue car ils ont été créés uniquement pour cette cuisine. En parlant de création unique, nous avons intégré une poubelle dans le plan de travail. Pratique et esthétique, elle permet de jeter rapidement vos épluchures pour le compost et d’avoir un plan de travail toujours propre.
