A quaint cottage set back in Vineyard Haven's Tashmoo woods creates the perfect Vineyard getaway. Our design concept focused on a bright, airy contemporary cottage with an old fashioned feel. Clean, modern lines and high ceilings mix with graceful arches, re-sawn heart pine rafters and a large masonry fireplace. The kitchen features stunning Crown Point cabinets in eye catching 'Cook's Blue' by Farrow & Ball. This kitchen takes its inspiration from the French farm kitchen with a separate pantry that also provides access to the backyard and outdoor shower.

When we first met our client from New Craighall, Edinburgh, she told us that she wanted to add light to her kitchen. She has failing eyesight and was finding it increasingly difficult to prepare meals in her dark kitchen. Our designer suggested a classic pastel blue colour scheme to help reflect light and make the space feel brighter. We maximised the natural light from the window and patio doors by using light-reflecting colours and materials. We used Mornington cabinet doors in Ives Blue paired with a Fjord Green carcass and white Calacatta Aurum quartz worktops. We also installed ceiling spotlights to brighten the space even more. To make the kitchen more functional, we created a task area as a breakfast bar so our client can have ample space to prepare meals. We opted for an oak worktop for the breakfast bar to add interest to the room. This matches the rest of the wood accents in the space, such as the corner shelves and the worktop on the kitchen dresser. Lastly, we installed Neff appliances throughout the kitchen to ensure it is fully equipped for cooking and entertaining. The result is a timeless, light, and airy kitchen, despite its relatively small size.

Open galley kitchen that is perfect for entertaining. Co-ordinating layered light fixtures all have crystal aspects. The stone/glass mosaic tile backsplash gives the space a little glitter above and below the cabinets. Porcelain tile floor is elegant and rugged. When the clients for this 1940's Minneapolis home came to us with their kitchen, they wanted to really make a kitchen they could be proud to come home to and entertain friends and family. With a Scandinavian focus in mind, we played with a number of different elements to bring the whole design together. The cabinets are painted a blue/gray color and the tops are a marble-like quartz. The backsplash is a simple, yet elegant, gray elongated subway tile that tucks up right under the floating shelves and upper cabinets. The floors are a wood-looking luxury vinyl plank. Finally the open shelves are made of reclaimed barn wood sourced from Minnesota. One of the focuses in this kitchen was to create a space for coffee. The coffee nook was specifically designed to accommodate the specific coffee maker the homeowners selected. Overall, we are completely in love with this look and how beautiful it turned out!

Re configuring the window and removing a wall in this kitchen opened up the space to the rest of the living area and allowed so much light to flow in! The beautiful grey cabinets add the perfect amount of color, allowing the quart countertops and brass hardware to pop! Such a transformation!

This gray and transitional kitchen remodel bridges the gap between contemporary style and traditional style. The dark gray cabinetry, light gray walls, and white subway tile backsplash make for a beautiful, neutral canvas for the bold teal blue and yellow décor accented throughout the design. Designer Gwen Adair of Cabinet Supreme by Adair did a fabulous job at using grays to create a neutral backdrop to bring out the bright, vibrant colors that the homeowners love so much. This Milwaukee, WI kitchen is the perfect example of Dura Supreme's recent launch of gray paint finishes, it has been interesting to see these new cabinetry colors suddenly flowing across our manufacturing floor, destined for homes around the country. The peninsula was brought down in height to achieve a more spacious and inviting feel into the living space and patio facing the water. Shades of gray were used to veer away from the all white kitchen and adding a dark gray entertainment unit really added drama to the space. We couldn't change out the cabinets or black granite at this time so we upgraded the hardware to matte black and added an awesome backsplash where there once was none. The trapezoidal design of the handmade tiles created an opportunity to play with varying colors that could be found throughout the home's art and furnishings. We laid it out piece by piece in order to achieve the one of a kind and organic feel to its design. Adding the retro Hygge & West wallpaper in the dining alcove add another layer of texture.

The previous two-tiered peninsula was bulky and separated the cook from dining area. Replacing with a one level peninsula, large apron front sink and gorgeous brass faucet make the space feel more open, spacious and introduces extra seating and counterspace. Calcatta gold drapes the countertops and backsplash and a spark of black and brass complete this sleek design.
