This gorgeous European Poggenpohl Kitchen is the culinary center of this new modern home for a young urban family. The homeowners had an extensive list of objectives for their new kitchen. It needed to accommodate formal and non-formal entertaining of guests and family, intentional storage for a variety of items with specific requirements, and use durable and easy to maintain products while achieving a sleek contemporary look that would be a stage and backdrop for their glorious artwork collection. Solution: A large central island acts as a gathering place within the great room space. The tall cabinetry items such as the ovens and refrigeration are grouped on the wall to keep the rest of the kitchen very light and open. Luxury Poggenpohl cabinetry and Caesarstone countertops were selected for their supreme durability and easy maintenance. Warm European oak flooring is contrasted by the gray textured Poggenpohl cabinetry flattered by full width linear Poggenphol hardware. The tall aluminum toe kick on the island is lit from underneath to give it a light and airy luxurious feeling. To further accent the illuminated toe, the surface to the left of the range top is fully suspended 18” above the finished floor. A large amount of steel and engineering work was needed to achieve the floating of the large Poggenpohl cabinet at the end of the peninsula. Warm traditional kitchen design with a full Travertine wall to set the overall tone. A once dark and dated kitchen with virtually no counter space or storage looks fresh and bright. We doubled the size of the window over the sink; chose to forego upper cabinets on the stove side to allow twice as much counter space than previously; took out a poorly designed walk-in pantry and instead designed a huge pullout pantry cabinet. The stone stove wall is porcelain for easy cleaning, but was chosen to match the stone on the living room fireplace. It provides a gorgeous statement, only flanked by the beautiful sconces. The island was also enlarged to double in size and turned to face the lake; it houses microwave drawer and 2-pullout drink refrigerators for easy access. A custom built-in china cabinet stands where there was once a washer/dryer in the powder room behind, providing even more storage in a piece that looks like it's always been there. By keeping the lowers and island in a soft sage green and only the refrigerator and pantry section, as well as the hutch in a soft white with black accents, this kitchen looks updated, fresh and an entertainers dream.

This shot shows the beautiful swirls in the Mesquite granite. The apron / farmhouse sink is a Shaw and the faucet is a Rohl. Notice how the appliance garage area to the left of the refrigerator blends in nicely.

West Chester kitchen remodel using Fieldstone Cabinetry designed by Rich Love at Chester County Kitchen & Bath. This kitchen was a total redesign combining the original kitchen space with the original dining room creating a new expansive kitchen area. The perimeter cabinetry is in the Harbor door style in Mushroom painted finish with a hand applied latte glaze. The two islands were designed in the same door style in Amaretto; one of Fieldstone’s specialty finishes. A great new wood hood by Stanisci Design was used for over the new Thermador gas pro cooktop. The new fridge was paneled with matching cabinetry so it would blend in to the beautiful surrounding cabinetry. Specialty leaded glass doors with interior lighting makes the wall cabinetry pop. Plenty of storage and countertop space for prepping dinners or for entertaining was the goal and I think we scored. The cabinetry and design along with the clients other awesome material and finish selections turned this kitchen into a beautiful new space that the clients will enjoy for years to come.
