Open concept kitchen with black and white shaker cabinets. The 48 inch Thermador refrigerator/freezer combo is built into the far wall. The Island was customized with shiplap accents surrounding the cabinets. The great room has a shiplap fireplace with a reclaimed wood mantle stained to match the flooring.

This is our Gin & Tonic kitchen. We added casual seating around the island to create an ideal place to relax with a drink at the end of a long day. The island doubles as a preparation area, so you can effortlessly talk about your day whilst preparing dinner. The adjacent wall has media furniture to provide more storage and a place to display your favourite things. We made it a feature wall using the beautiful Tori Teal wallpaper from Graham & Brown and the quirky Flamingo table lamp is from Graham & Green (we considered calling this the Graham kitchen, but it didn’t have quite the same ring to it). The handleless slab doors are a beautiful matte finish called Crystal, which is a neutral off-white, the perfect blank canvas for personalisation. This door style is incredibly versatile, it can be ultra modern and minimalist or more characterful by combining different colours and textures. Our Classic take on the look pairs contemporary German style with timeless British elegance. The kitchen is from Pronorm, our German kitchen supplier, but we’ve painted the walls in Oval Room Blue by Farrow & Ball to add a regal gracefulness. The wall cupboard doors are concrete, which we matched with concrete pendant lights and accessories to keep the style modern and on trend. The addition of oak for the open display units and bookcase adds character and texture to the space. The floor is Storm Oak Parquet from Karndean. The ashy grey tones are ultra modern with the authentic look and feel of a traditional parquet but without the upkeep of natural wood. The G&T kitchen is on display at our Edgbaston showroom. An original 1930’s English Tudor with only 2 bedrooms and 1 bath spanning about 1730 sq.ft. was purchased by a family with 2 amazing young kids, we saw the potential of this property to become a wonderful nest for the family to grow. The plan was to reach a 2550 sq. ft. home with 4 bedroom and 4 baths spanning over 2 stories. With continuation of the exiting architectural style of the existing home. A large 1000sq. ft. addition was constructed at the back portion of the house to include the expended master bedroom and a second-floor guest suite with a large observation balcony overlooking the mountains of Angeles Forest. An L shape staircase leading to the upstairs creates a moment of modern art with an all white walls and ceilings of this vaulted space act as a picture frame for a tall window facing the northern mountains almost as a live landscape painting that changes throughout the different times of day. Tall high sloped roof created an amazing, vaulted space in the guest suite with 4 uniquely designed windows extruding out with separate gable roof above. The downstairs bedroom boasts 9’ ceilings, extremely tall windows to enjoy the greenery of the backyard, vertical wood paneling on the walls add a warmth that is not seen very often in today’s new build. The master bathroom has a showcase 42sq. walk-in shower with its own private south facing window to illuminate the space with natural morning light. A larger format wood siding was using for the vanity backsplash wall and a private water closet for privacy. In the interior reconfiguration and remodel portion of the project the area serving as a family room was transformed to an additional bedroom with a private bath, a laundry room and hallway. The old bathroom was divided with a wall and a pocket door into a powder room the leads to a tub room. The biggest change was the kitchen area, as befitting to the 1930’s the dining room, kitchen, utility room and laundry room were all compartmentalized and enclosed. We eliminated all these partitions and walls to create a large open kitchen area that is completely open to the vaulted dining room. This way the natural light the washes the kitchen in the morning and the rays of sun that hit the dining room in the afternoon can be shared by the two areas. The opening to the living room remained only at 8’ to keep a division of space.

In the remodeled kitchen, the homeowners asked for an "unfitted" or somewhat eclectic and casual New England style. To improve the layout of the space, Neil Kelly Designer Robert Barham completely re-imagined the orientation, moving the refrigerator to a new wall and moving the range from the island to a wall. He also moved the doorway from the living room to a new location to improve the overall flow. Everything in this kitchen was replaced except for the newer appliances and the beautiful exposed wood beams in the ceiling. Highlights of the design include stunning hardwood flooring, a craftsman style island, the custom black range hood, and vintage brass cabinet pulls sourced by the homeowners.

This cabinet was custom designed to fit the Keurig and coffee supplies. The lift up door provides easy access without blocking the pathway. Mugs are stored behind glass doors above, and accessories are stored in the shallow drawers below.
