The home was a very outdated Southwest style with Aztec architectural elements, and it was time for a transformation to the beautiful modern style you see now. We ripped out all the flooring throughout, squared off and removed a lot of the Aztec styled elements in the home, redesigned the fireplace and opened up the kitchen. In the kitchen, we opened up a wall that made the kitchen feel very closed in, allowing us room to make a more linear and open kitchen. Opening up the kitchen and its new layout allowed us to create a large accent island that is truly a statement piece. Our clients hand selected every finish you see, including the rare granite that has beautiful pops of purple and waterfall edges. To create some contrast, the island has a pretty neutral taupe acrylic cabinetry and the perimeter has textured laminate cabinets with a fun white geometric backsplash. Our clients use their TV in their kitchen, so we created a custom built in just for their TV on the backwall. For the fireplace to now match the homes new style, we reshaped it to have sleek lines and had custom metal pieces acid washed for the center with stacked stone on the sides for texture. Enjoy!

In the kitchen, the caramel creaminess of the bamboo cabinetry in this open-format kitchen is counter-balanced by the grey tile and salt and pepper ripple in the counters. Quite a tasty combo.

The large island kitchen with a high vaulted ceiling and breakfast nook beyond. Both are oriented with views of the pool terrace and Texas Hill Country beyond. The kitchen area is delineated as a core feature of the house, differentiated from the adjoining rooms through the use of contrasting warm gray colored walls with aluminum reveals. Centered is the cooking and seating island with cabinets made of high-gloss Heather Maple, with a Azul Volga Blue granite countertop. Around the island are the perimeter work areas, appliances and cabinets made of high-gloss earthenware Cherry with Lagos Caesarstone countertops. The cabinet doors are detailed with custom inlaid stainless-steel strips to compliment the appliances. The backsplashes are layered glass with a sandwiched wallpaper of a shimmery and flowy mercurial silver matrix. They extend from the counter height backsplash surface up to above the upper cabinets, behind backlit glass shelves. The generous windows are oriented towards the pool terrace and the Texas Hill Country beyond.

For a family that loves hosting large gatherings, this expansive home is a dream; boasting two unique entertaining spaces, each expanding onto outdoor-living areas, that capture its magnificent views. The sheer size of the home allows for various ‘experiences’; from a rec room perfect for hosting game day and an eat-in wine room escape on the lower-level, to a calming 2-story family greatroom on the main. Floors are connected by freestanding stairs, framing a custom cascading-pendant light, backed by a stone accent wall, and facing a 3-story waterfall. Book-matched ash wood kitchen by Poggenpohl Hawaii is like no other. The attention to detail provides a beautiful and functional working kitchen. This project was designed for multiple family members and each rave how much they appreciate the new layout and finishes. This oceanfront residence boasts an incredible ocean view and the Ann Sacks Tile mirror porcelain tile backsplash allows for enough reflection to enjoy the beauty from all directions. The porcelain tile floor looks and feels like natural limestone without the maintenance. The hand-tufted wool rug creates a sense of luxury while complying with association rules. Furnishings selected and provided by Vision Design Kitchen and Bath LLC.

This project was a collaboration with a contractor we have partnered with for years to create a unique home for him and his family. Shane and Anna Butterick of GSB Building are from New Zealand, and this influenced a great deal of the design decisions on the project. The choice of materials such as the wood finishes and the decision to leave steel beams exposed are influenced by a desire to remind them of a South Island style. The project is centred around a self-build mentality. We achieved planning for a full width and side return extension, with full height steel doors adding an industrial style to this typical Victorian brick terraced house. The ground floor has been entirely reconfigured, to create one large open plan kitchen, dining and living space. The tall metal doors open onto a small but perfectly formed courtyard garden. At the upper level, a luxury master suite has been created, with a large free-standing bath its centrepiece. We were also able to extend the loft to create a new bedroom with ensuite. Much of the interior design is the result of Anna’s eclectic style and attention to detail. Shane and his team took responsibility for building the project and creating a very high-end finish. This project was a truly collaborative effort.

European style Poggenpohl kitchen offers a roomy island with induction cooktop and beverage refrigerator, wet wall with single dish drawer, Grohe fixtures and lift-up cabinet doors, and full-height wall including refrigeration, ovens and plenty of pantry space. All drawers and lift-up doors open at a gentle touch due to the Servo-drive installation. The lift-up doors may be lowered manually or with the touch of a recessed button. The roomy kitchen includes many Universal Design features like wide paths, dimmable lighting, roll-up cooktop and sink area, dish drawer, automatic drawer openers, pull-down shelves, pull-out pantries, and taller toe kick areas. This was a small space so we packed as much function into it as we could. The toe kicks are drawers. Everything pulls out and there is access to every inch of space in this kitchen. We went with a simple clean design that wouldn't overwhelm the space.
