Welcome to our latest kitchen renovation project, where classic French elegance meets contemporary design in the heart of Great Falls, VA. In this transformation, we aim to create a stunning kitchen space that exudes sophistication and charm, capturing the essence of timeless French style with a modern twist. Our design centers around a harmonious blend of light gray and off-white tones, setting a serene and inviting backdrop for this kitchen makeover. These neutral hues will work in harmony to create a calming ambiance and enhance the natural light, making the kitchen feel open and welcoming. To infuse a sense of nature and add a striking focal point, we have carefully selected green cabinets. The rich green hue, reminiscent of lush gardens, brings a touch of the outdoors into the space, creating a unique and refreshing visual appeal. The cabinets will be thoughtfully placed to optimize both functionality and aesthetics. The heart of this project lies in the eye-catching French-style range and exquisite light fixture. The hood, adorned with intricate detailing, will become a captivating centerpiece above the cooking area. Its classic charm will evoke the grandeur of French country homes, while also providing efficient ventilation for a pleasant cooking experience.

The kitchen is now opened onto the dining room, facilitating the every day life.

View of an L-shaped kitchen with a central island in a side return extension in a Victoria house which has a sloping glazed roof. The shaker style cabinets with beaded frames are painted in Little Greene Obsidian Green. The handles a brass d-bar style. The worktop on the perimeter units is Iroko wood and the island worktop is honed, pencil veined Carrara marble. A single bowel sink sits in the island with a polished brass tap with a rinse spout. Transitional style kitchen for a unique vactaion home in beautiful Litchfield County in CT. Working with the angles of the ceiling we created plenty of storage for this client in their second home. We took advantage of all of the natural light coming into the space by using light and white for the uppers and at the same time incorporating contrast with a beautiful shade of green and classic black quartz countertops. This kitchen is now a timeless space for years to come.

This 1956 John Calder Mackay home had been poorly renovated in years past. We kept the 1400 sqft footprint of the home, but re-oriented and re-imagined the bland white kitchen to a midcentury olive green kitchen that opened up the sight lines to the wall of glass facing the rear yard. We chose materials that felt authentic and appropriate for the house: handmade glazed ceramics, bricks inspired by the California coast, natural white oaks heavy in grain, and honed marbles in complementary hues to the earth tones we peppered throughout the hard and soft finishes. This project was featured in the Wall Street Journal in April 2022.

The goal for our emerald and white kitchen design was to create a bold and functional kitchen for our sophisticated clients. They desired a more practical kitchen layout and a splash of color. Previously, the cooktop was located in the small center island with a very limited prep area on each side. In addition, there was not a focal point and the unsightly refrigerator was on the main focal wall. The designer completely reconfigured the space by placing the range on the main kitchen wall, topped with a showstopping new emerald kitchen hood as the focal point. A new built-in refrigerator was relocated to the opposite wall and a functional veggie sink was added in the center island. The clients requested a color palette that was anything but neutral, so the designer delivered with a bold green and white design to meet their request. Gold accents add additional sophisticated detailing. Bursts of green were incorporated throughout the space in the barstools, the kitchen island and in the custom breakfast area artwork commissioned especially for this project.

In a home with just about 1000 sf our design needed to thoughtful, unlike the recent contractor-grade flip it had recently undergone. For clients who love to cook and entertain we came up with several floor plans and this open layout worked best. We used every inch available to add storage, work surfaces, and even squeezed in a 3/4 bath! Colorful but still soothing, the greens in the kitchen and blues in the bathroom remind us of Big Sur, and the nod to mid-century perfectly suits the home and it's new owners.
