Completed in 2020, this large 3,500 square foot bungalow underwent a major facelift from the 1990s finishes throughout the house. We worked with the homeowners who have two sons to create a bright and serene forever home. The project consisted of one kitchen, four bathrooms, den, and game room. We mixed Scandinavian and mid-century modern styles to create these unique and fun spaces. --- Project designed by the Atomic Ranch featured modern designers at Breathe Design Studio. This Old world charm kitchen perfectly balances traditional, antiques and mid-century style. Raw natural finishes and texture shine's in this well though-out design style. With the avid entertainer and home chef in mind this kitchen is packed with functionality in mind with space for all.

Open concept, please! This open concept [Kitchen, casual dining and family room] were made for family gatherings and entertaining friends. The size of the open space allows for plenty of seating and conversations. There is not a bad seat in the house. No matter where you sit, you are still apart of the action.

For this whole home remodel and addition project, we removed the existing roof and knee walls to construct new 1297 s/f second story addition. We increased the main level floor space with a 4’ addition (100s/f to the rear) to allow for a larger kitchen and wider guest room. We also reconfigured the main level, creating a powder bath and converting the existing primary bedroom into a family room, reconfigured a guest room and added new guest bathroom, completed the kitchen remodel, and reconfigured the basement into a media room.

The challenge with this kitchen was to integrate it with the period style of this historic home. Functionality, as well as style were major points of emphasis for the homeowner as well as the designer. This transitional style kitchen design in Gainesville is stunning on the surface with hidden treasures behind the kitchen cabinet doors. Crystal Cabinets with contrasting white and dark gray finish cabinetry set the tone for the kitchen style. The space includes a full butler's pantry with a round, hammered metal sink. The cabinetry is accented by Top Knobs hardware and an Ocean Beige quartzite countertop. The white porcelain tile backsplash features Ann Sacks tile in both the kitchen and butler's pantry. A tall pantry cabinet in the kitchen opens to reveal amazing storage for small kitchen appliances and gadgets, which is perfect for an avid home chef or baker. The bottom of this cabinet was customized for the client to create a delightful space for the kids to access an understairs play area. Our team worked with the client to find a unique way to meet the customer's requirement and create a one-of-a-kind space that is perfect for a family with kids. The kitchen incorporates a custom white hood and a farmhouse sink with a Rohl faucet. This kitchen is a delightful space that combines style, functionality, and customized features for a show stopping space at the center of this home.

Its hard to believe this is the same house we started on. The beams are from a barn built in 1885. Sourcing the right materials is key to pulling off a renovation like this.

Two years after completing the initial project, our clients asked us to return and give their dated kitchen a facelift. We gutted the large and unusually shaped kitchen and remodeled the space with new blue and white cabinetry, quartzite countertops and a white and gray mosaic tile on the backsplash. We replaced an old window with a large picture window and added a counter peninsula for a welcoming breakfast area. New Thermador appliances were installed and pendant lights over the counter area keep things feeling open and airy.
