This 1950's home was chopped up with the segmented rooms of the period. The front of the house had two living spaces, separated by a wall with a door opening, and the long-skinny hearth area was difficult to arrange. The kitchen had been remodeled at some point, but was still dated. The homeowners wanted more space, more light, and more MODERN. So we delivered. We knocked out the walls and added a beam to open up the three spaces. Luxury vinyl tile in a warm, matte black set the base for the space, with light grey walls and a mid-grey ceiling. The fireplace was totally revamped and clad in cut-face black stone. Cabinetry and built-ins in clear-coated maple add the mid-century vibe, as does the furnishings. And the geometric backsplash was the starting inspiration for everything. We'll let you just peruse the photos, with before photos at the end, to see just how dramatic the results were!

The older couple needed a kitchenette to be on the same level as their bedroom. Their large house has three levels, making it a long difficult trek for the couple with health issues. Originally housing a billiard table, this room was converted to house a small kitchenette. A single burner induction cooktop is perfect for them to make their breakfast.

What was once a dated kitchen designed in the 1990's was remodeled and updated to a clean, bright upscale kitchen with loads of counter space and storage.

This home already had a beachy colorful vibe. Continuing the color pallet to create a cohesive look was a priority. Knowing when and where to add the pops of color helped tone down some spaces, and intensify others. Space planning was needed to use the square footage for how this family lives. The formal living room was turned in to a new dining space with a live edge table. The old dining space is now a cool loungy wine room, and the kitchen was slightly expanded and opened up. This connected the lower level rooms and created a better flow for entertaining. The entrance to the kitchen was opened up for better visibility and added storage. A color pallet of soft white and grey for the cabinets allowed for the backsplash, with pops of teal blue, be the focal point. The new wine room has storage for an extensive wine collection and seating to hang out and socialize. The coffee bar creates a space to keep everything "coffee" together. The patterned tile adds a fun energetic feel and ties the family room to the kitchen. Now all the rooms are used and the home is a great entertaining space.

This eclectic kitchen design in Laguna Hills is the perfect combination of location, layout, and style. The kitchen, design by Bruce Colucci, maximizes the use of natural light and open space. This was accomplished by removing a load bearing wall and installing new Milgard windows and sliding glass doors. The resulting high ceiling and exposed beam is a show stopping feature, and the mosaic glass tile backsplash extends from countertop to ceiling along the angled wall, drawing your eye to the kitchen and showcasing the vaulted ceiling. The kitchen island offers a dividing line between the food preparation zones and the entertaining zone in this great room style space. The island includes a Kohler sink and an induction cooktop with Best’s Cattura downdraft ventilation. The white Wood Mode-Brookhaven cabinets are beautifully offset by the Aqua Shade island cabinetry, all topped by a Cambria quartz countertop. This kitchen design is packed with amazing features and appliances, including a Bosch induction cooktop, oven and dishwasher, along with a large LG French door refrigerator, Task Lighting angled power strips, and Lutron Caseta lighting controls. Once upon a time, this kitchen had ceilings only 8 feet high, only one window, no real storage, and very little light. Now, this glorious, cheery space boasts 10 foot ceilings, three new, giant windows, and incredibly efficient drawer storage with all the bells and whistles a home cook may ask for. This view is of the open sink wall. It cleverly houses the family's coffee making apparatus' in flanking storage towers.
