The Brief The brief for this Shoreham Beach client left our Contract Kitchen team challenged to create a design and layout to make the most of beautiful sea views and a large open plan living space. The client specified a minimalist theme which would complement the coastal surroundings and modern decor utilised for other areas in the property. Design Elements The shape of this newly built area meant a single wall of units was favourable, with a 4.3 metre island running adjacent to the long run of full-height cabinetry. To add separation to this long run, a desired drink and food-prep area has been placed close to the Juliette balcony. The single wall layout contributes to the minimal feel of this space, chosen in a Alpine White finish with discrete integrated handleware for the same reason. The chosen furniture is from German manufacturer Nobilia’s Lux collection, an extremely durable gloss kitchen option. A high-gloss furniture finish has been chosen to reflect light around this large space, but also to compliment chrome accents elsewhere in the property. Special Inclusions Durable Corian work surfaces have been used throughout the kitchen, but most impressively upon the island where no visible joins can be seen along the entire 4.3 metres. A seamless waterfall edge on the island and dual sinks also make use of the Grey Onyx Corian surface. An array of high-specification Neff cooking and refrigeration appliances have been utilised, concealed behind cabinetry where possible. Another exciting inclusion is the BORA Pure induction venting hob, placed upon the island close to the Quooker boiling water tap also specified. To add luxurious flashes to this room, a multitude of lighting options have been incorporated, including integrated plinth and undercabinet lighting. Project Highlight In addition to the kitchen, a built-in TV and storage area was required. This part of the room is a fantastic highlight that makes use of handleless stone-effect furniture from Nobilia’s Riva range. To sit atop of cabinetry and the benched seating area Stellar Grey Silestone workstops have been incorporated. The End Result The outcome of this project is a fantastic open plan kitchen area that delivers upon all elements of this client’s brief. This spacious kitchen offers a unique layout with an L-shaped island within a U-shaped perimeter. Beautiful custom cabinetry in flat-panel door style creates a timeless kitchen. Maple wood stained a dark, rich custom blend creates a dramatic style with light tops & a warm back splash.

This beautiful in-frame classic shaker kitchen features a cock beaded front frame, a deep blue hand painted finish, oak veneered carcasses, solid oak drawer boxes and many other features. The exposed brick is a stunning backdrop while the white quartz offers a standout surface. The kitchen has a 100mm in-line plinth which has allowed for an additional 50mm length to each door which is a unique and truly bespoke design feature. There is a walk-in pantry to the right of the fridge/freezer which is neatly hidden behind a translucent glass door – this offers extended worksurface and storage, plus a great place to hide the microwave and toaster. The island is joined to a sawn oak breakfast bar/dining table which is something unique and includes storage below. We supplied and installed some high-end details such as the Wolf Built-in oven, Induction hob and downdraft extractor, plus a double butler sink from Shaw's and a Perrin & Rowe tap. This Carmel Valley complete remodel truly defines an open-concept living space that is elegant, functional, and full of beautiful finishes. Taking center stage in the kitchen is a gorgeous, large island that features cabinetry in a very on-trend jewel toned blue hue that perfectly accents the primary palette of white and grey throughout the rest of the space. Other beautiful details include the custom hood, walk-in pantry, and the unique marbled mosaic subway tiled backsplash. Subtle brass fixtures and accents accentuate the modern feel while top of the line appliances add the finishing touch for this home chef. As the heart of the home, we knew the kitchen was going to be the hub of activity so we wanted to design a space that was both extremely functional and pleasing to the eye. By utilizing custom-built light systems, we were able to create sleek task lighting in kitchen work areas without sacrificing style. The custom-designed vent hood wood beams in the ceiling added a touch of warmth while the cool color palette opened up the space and balanced the design. Storage was a necessity for our clients so we included ample cabinetry in the kitchen, an island with functional storage space on three sides, and an oversized butler’s pantry with rolling ladder for easy use.

This kitchen features white oak cabinets with white floating shelves. To give this kitchen a designer look, we added a patterned cement tile with a white quartz waterfall backsplash. The home is in Dallas, TX.
