Jenny was open to using IKEA cabinetry throughout, but ultimately decided on Semihandmade’s Light Gray Shaker door style. “I wanted to maximize storage, maintain affordability, and spice up visual interest by mixing up shelving and closed cabinets,” she says. “And I wanted to display nice looking things and hide uglier things, like Tupperware pieces.” This was key as her original kitchen was dark, cramped and had inefficient storage, such as wire racks pressed up against her refrigerator and limited counter space. To remedy this, the upper cabinetry is mixed asymmetrically throughout, over the long run of countertops along the wall by the refrigerator and above the food prep area and above the stove. “Stylistically, these cabinets blended well with the butcher block countertops and the large Moroccan/Spanish tile design on the floor,” she notes.

We designed a custom hutch which has a multitude of storage options and functionality – open display shelves, roll-outs, drawers, extra counter/serving space, as well as a beverage fridge and appliance garage/coffee center. On the opposite side of the kitchen, we replaced a small pantry closet with a furniture style built-in that took advantage of underutilized space. Anticipating issues with supply chain, we opted to use a local cabinet maker on this project which allowed us to fully customize the cabinets for optimal functionality.

Где находится (если не секрет): Москва, Соколиная Гора Метраж: 80 м2 Стиль (как бы вы его сами определили): Артистический интерьер Основная идея проекта: создать яркое артистичное пространство с множеством деталей, подчеркивающее характер его владельцев. Цветовая гамма: смешанная гамма, композиция теплых и холодных оттенков. 1. Особенности планировки. В квартире имеется спальня с эркером, гостиная и отдельная кухня. До перепланировки помещения были мало освещенными и тесными. За счёт объединения гостиной и кухни, а также цветовой палитры удалось создать достаточно светлый, жизнерадостный интерьер. Кухню с подведенным газом, как и требуют правила, отделили от гостиной герметичной перегородкой. В квартире присутствует помещение, в котором находится законсервированный мусоропровод, который не удалось удалить, без согласования всех жильцов дома, а их, к слову, оказалось не мало (в 135 квартирах). В итоге в этой комнате расположился гардероб и дополнительные места для хранения. Прихожая продолжается длинным коридором, имеющим большой шкаф с множеством мест для хранения одежды и костюмов, которые наши герои создают для музыкальных фестивалей. С противоположной стороны расположен вход в спальню 2. Если можно, пару слов о заказчиках. Основные пожелания заказчиков. Владельцы квартиры – творческие и неординарные молодые люди, приобрели себе квартиру площадью 80 м2 в доме 1956 года, которая отчаянно требовала ремонта. Ребята круто играют на гитарах, ежегодно участвуют в музыкальных фестивалях и фестивалях Burning Man, а еще успешно занимаются созданием световых инсталляций. Заказчики в первую очередь хотели создать необычное пространство, которое вдохновляло бы их на творческие порывы и отражало их внутренние миры. 3. Какие декораторские и архитектурные приемы вы использовали в оформлении этого интерьера. Особую атмосферу при входе в спальню создают парадные двустворчатые двери, которые привносят особую эстетику и дополняют образ спальни. Пол и фартук в кухне декорированы орнаментом английской плитки, которая напоминает советскую. Спальня светлая, свежая и яркая, как и ее обитатели. Цветовая гамма - чистые ясные оттенки голубого и синего. В изголовье кровати Обои с узором по мотивам керамики местечка Кап-д’Ай, что на юго-востоке Франции, который символизирует слияние неба и земли на растительном фоне, как слияние мужского и женского. Растительный мотив поддерживает кровать и тумбы из природных материалов. Интерьер наполнен предметами искусства, которые придали пространству лёгкие ироничные нотки. Чтобы шкаф в гостиной не выглядел просто шкафом, на его фасадах мы расположили печатную графику и декор, теперь он напоминает больше стеновые панели, нежели гардероб. 4. У меня в голове возникла история. Жизнь, как игра, она жонглирует разными событиями, ситуациями, а мы всегда учимся поймать и отреагировать на то или иное. Весь интерьер, как заказчики - активный и наполнен адреналином. В интерьере много цветного стекла, совсем как шарики жонглера, а скульптура Льва Ефимова (синие пенящиеся шары) словно символ пойманных и сложенных воедино пойманных моментов и впечатлений. Литография на стене — это ещё один символ легкости бытия и позитивного отношения к жизни. Дизайнерские светильники в гостиной — это отражение легкости мысли. А скульптура в спальне на подоконнике, говорит о течении времени и каждый раз просыпаясь утром, возникает понимание, что жизнь течёт и нужно наслаждаться ей и стремиться сделать много нового и с любовью, нового и вместе. «Вместе» — это о литографии в прихожей «Поцелуй». Эта работа, с входа в квартиру говорит о гармонии и ярких отношениях пары, а скульптура на консоли из стекла вторит этой работе, красное и голубое стекло сплелось в единую композицию. На мой взгляд - эти две работы из разных эпох, а словно созданы друг для друга. 5. Самым важным в этом проекте было вдохнуть вторую жизнь в обветшалое и сало похожее на жилище пространство. Впервые попав на объект, мы даже не знали за что схватиться первым делом. Задачи были повсюду, начиная от мусоропровода в середине квартиры и заканчивая стенами, которые были в шатком состоянии. 6. В каждом помещении есть акценты и образующие интерьер конструкции, например в кухне-гостиной это перегородка из стекла, которая выглядит легко, но в то же время зонирует пространство. В спальне акцент на эркер, это первое что понравилось в квартире, когда мы зашли, много света из окон большой плюс особенно зимой.

Whole house remodel in Narragansett RI. We reconfigured the floor plan and added a small addition to the right side to extend the kitchen. Thus creating a gorgeous transitional kitchen with plenty of room for cooking, storage, and entertaining. The dining room can now seat up to 12 with a recessed hutch for a few extra inches in the space. The new half bath provides lovely shades of blue and is sure to catch your eye! The rear of the first floor now has a private and cozy guest suite.

The clients believed the peninsula footprint was required due to the unique entry points from the hallway leading to the dining room and the foyer. The new island increases storage, counters and a more pleasant flow of traffic from all directions. The biggest challenge was trying to make the structural beam that ran perpendicular to the space work in a new design; it was off center and difficult to balance the cabinetry and functional spaces to work with it. In the end it was decided to increase the budget and invest in moving the header in the ceiling to achieve the best design, esthetically and funcationlly. Specific storage designed to meet the clients requests include: - pocket doors at counter tops for everyday appliances - deep drawers for pots, pans and Tupperware - island includes designated zone for baking supplies - tall and shallow pantry/food storage for easy access near island - pull out spice near cooking - tray dividers for assorted baking pans/sheets, cutting boards and numerous other serving trays - cutlery and knife inserts and built in trash/recycle bins to keep things organized and convenient to use, out of sight - custom design hutch to hold various, yet special dishes and silverware Elements of design chosen to meet the clients wishes include: - painted cabinetry to lighten up the room that lacks windows and give relief/contrast to the expansive wood floors - monochromatic colors throughout give peaceful yet elegant atmosphere o stained island provides interest and warmth with wood, but still unique in having a different stain than the wood floors – this is repeated in the tile mosaic backsplash behind the rangetop - punch of fun color used on hutch for a unique, furniture feel - carefully chosen detailed embellishments like the tile mosaic, valance toe boards, furniture base board around island, and island pendants are traditional details to not only the architecture of the home, but also the client’s furniture and décor. - Paneled refrigerator minimizes the large appliance, help keeping an elegant feel Superior cooking equipment includes a combi-steam oven, convection wall ovens paired with a built-in refrigerator with interior air filtration to better preserve fresh foods. Our clients were ready to update their kitchen with soft and subtle colors to blend in with the home’s recently updated interior. It was also time to improve the layout. The kitchen needed to be reconfigured in order to facilitate a three-generation family and occasional entertaining. Design Objectives -Brighten up to blend with the home’s interior and flow into the adjacent family room area -Incorporate specific storage for pantry items like bulk ingredients and small appliances -Designate areas for a coffee bar, multiple prep areas and seating while highlighting a dry bar for display -Keep clutter off of counters for a seamless design that facilitates visual flow through the entire area Design Challenges -Make a subtle statement with contrasting cabinets and countertops -Incorporate a stand-alone, statement-making dry bar just outside the main kitchen space -Design a statement hood that serves as a focal point without interrupting visual flow -Update and add lighting to add more task, accent and overhead brightness. -Have the space be usable for different tasks by different family members at the same time -Create a space that looks classy and formal but is still inviting. Design Solutions -A soft grey stain and white paint were used on all the cabinets. On only the wall cabinets flanking the window was the grey introduced on the frame to make a pop against the white paint. -The white-painted refrigerator and freezer door panel style is a custom reeded look that adds a soft contrasting detail against the main door style. Along with the open grey-stained interior cabinet above, it looks like a piece of furniture. -The same soft tones were used for the countertops and a full, high backsplash of Chamonix quartzite that tied everything together. It’s an elegant backdrop for the hood. -The Dry Bar, even though showcasing a dark stained cabinet, stays open and bright with a full mirror backsplash, wood retained glass floating shelves and glass wall cabinet doors. Brushed brass trim details and a fun light fixture add a pop of character. -The same reeded door style as the refrigerator was used on the base doors of the dry bar to tie in with the kitchen. -About 2/3 of the existing walk-in pantry was carved out for the new dry bar footprint while still keeping a shallow-depth pantry space for storage. -The homeowners wanted a beautiful hood but didn’t want it to dominate the design. We kept the lines of the hood simple. The soft stainless steel body has a bottom accent that incorporates both the grey stain and white-painted cabinet colors. -Even though the Kitchen had a lot of natural light from the large window, it was important to have task and subtle feature lighting. Recessed cans provide overall lighting while clear pendants shine down on the 2nd level of the seating area on the island. -The circular clear chandelier is the statement piece over the main island while the pendants flanking the hood emphasize the quartzite backsplash and add as accent lighting in the evening along with the interior cabinet lights. With three generations living in the home it was important to have areas that multiple family members could use at the same time without being in each other’s way. The design incorporates different zones like the coffee bar, charging station, dry bar and ­­refrigerator drawers. The softness of the colors and classic feel of the wood floor keep kitchen is inviting and calming.­­
