This transitional kitchen design in Lake Forest is packed with professional quality features interwoven with personal touches that bring out the personality of the homeowner. We opened up the wall to create an open space to the great room. It was tricky because all of the support and to upstairs bathrooms were in the columns. We skinned the wall to the pantry in the corner to look like cabinetry and flow together. We put flooring up on the ceiling where the hood comes out of to keep it more casual.

A unique take on a modern Floridian style kitchen with a punch of color. The handmade green glass tiles by Trend Group were the driving force in this remodel. We were required to keep the sink and dishwasher in their original location. But we moved the stove from the left of the refrigerator, to the newly expanded island creating an oversized workspace. The clients love to socialize and by moving the stove, allowed for conversations to not be strained when someone is cooking. Our clients originally only fit 2 bar stools at the island. But once we doubled it in size, we were able to fit 4 bar stools and centralize the conversation area in this open concept design. The Cambria Annicca countertop is the piece de resistance adding a lot of flare o the space with its purple and gold detailing, complimenting the green backsplash. ARS fabricators hit a home run with the outstanding job they did on the gorgeous waterfall sides. Besides the kitchen, we also replaced all of the flooring throughout the home.

The remodel took traffic flow and appliance placement into consideration. The refrigerator was relocated to an area closer to the sink and out of the flow of traffic. Recessed lighting and under-cabinet lighting now flood the kitchen with warm light. The closet pantry and a half wall between the family room and kitchen were removed and a peninsular with seating area was added to provide a large work surface, storage on both sides and shelving with baskets to store homework, craft items and books. Opening this area up provided a welcoming spot for friends and family to gather when entertaining. The microwave was placed at a height that was safe and convenient for the whole family. Cabinets taken to the ceiling, large drawers, pantry roll-outs and a corner lazy susan have helped make this kitchen a pleasure to gather as a family.
