This smart kitchen renovation in Silver Spring, Maryland, involved removing three walls and a centrally located powder room and a closet. The powder room was relocated into the original closet area, and the patio door moved nearby. The main window was enlarged to create an anchor and focal point for the new kitchen as well as to enhance the view onto the lovely backyard. Designed with an open floor plan and layered outdoor spaces, the Onaway is a perfect cottage for narrow lakefront lots. The exterior features elements from both the Shingle and Craftsman architectural movements, creating a warm cottage feel. An open main level skillfully disguises this narrow home by using furniture arrangements and low built-ins to define each spaces’ perimeter. Every room has a view to each other as well as a view of the lake. The cottage feel of this home’s exterior is carried inside with a neutral, crisp white, and blue nautical themed palette. The kitchen features natural wood cabinetry and a long island capped by a pub height table with chairs. Above the garage, and separate from the main house, is a series of spaces for plenty of guests to spend the night. The symmetrical bunk room features custom staircases to the top bunks with drawers built in. The best views of the lakefront are found on the master bedrooms private deck, to the rear of the main house. The open floor plan continues downstairs with two large gathering spaces opening up to an outdoor covered patio complete with custom grill pit.

A truly contemporary kitchen that stays true to the integrity of the ranch style home, with both sleek and natural elements. Dark brown Quarter-Sawn oak cabinets were used on the perimeter and the island, while wired gloss cabinets were used for the walls and tall cabinets. A large island houses a microwave drawer, dishwasher drawers and peg boards in deep drawers for plate organization. A breakfast bar with waterfall edges in Neolith material adds a striking focal point to the large space. Refrigerator panels cover the doors of the Sub Zero refrigerator and freezer to fully integrate the panels into the design. Huge re-model including taking ceiling from a flat ceiling to a complete transformation. Bamboo custom cabinetry was given a grey stain, mixed with walnut strip on the bar and the island given a different stain. Huge amounts of storage from deep pan corner drawers, roll out trash, coffee station, built in refrigerator, wine and alcohol storage, appliance garage, pantry and appliance storage, the amounts go on and on. Floating shelves with a back that just grabs the eye takes this kitchen to another level. The clients are thrilled with this huge difference from their original space.

This traditional style kitchen is not shy on modern features. The iridescent glazed tile backsplash is a dramatic backdrop for an efficient induction cooktop. The raised island countertop discretely hides the preparation space at the sink.

This was a remodeled kitchen from ground up. From taking out the dated floor tiles to making the ceiling higher. We gave this client the best use of storage space, now they have double what they use to. Since it's not a huge space we wanted the kitchen to feel lighter and brighter so we installed white cabinets and white quartz counter tops giving the kitchen a airy feeling. We paired it with a more masculine tile selection with blues, blacks, and whites to give this kitchen a more balanced/homey look for him and her. To twist the looks we brought in a more transitional, but yet modern/contemporary, stainless farmers sink. The home owners couldn't be happier with the results! Roman Sebek Photography

This stylish coastal kitchen features an oversized island, beautiful lantern pendants, a unique tile backsplash and white kitchen cabinets for a modern beach house vibe. The built in appliances encased in cabinetry give the space a streamlined look.

With their exposed bulbs, these glass pendants allow for their warm vintage interior bulbs to resonate their warmth throughout the kitchen. Additionally, their stainless steel mounting ties into the other stainless steel elements within the space.
