The warmth of quarter sawn oak is one of a kind. It's a great choice when looking for a natural, neutral cabinet. In this project, it was paired with a simple white quartz countertop. And it's golden natural hue was emphasized with gold hardware, and wicker pendants.

Tying multiple floors together using 6”x36” dark grey wood-looking tile, laid on a staggered patterned worked well with the tile and concrete floors next to it. Two-toned cabinetry of wired brushed hickory with a grey stain wash, combined with maple wood in a dark slate finish is a current trend. Counter tops: combination of splashy granite and white Caesarstone grounded the display. A custom-designed table of ash wood, with heavy distressing and grey washed stain added warmth. Show custom features: Arched glass door cabinets with crown moulding to match. Unique Features: drawer in drawer for pot lids, pull out drawer in toe kick for dog dishes, toe space step stool, swing up mixer shelf, pull out spice storage. Built in Banquette seating with table and docking station for family meals and working. Custom open shelves and wine rack with detailed legs anchor the three sides of the island. Backsplash rail with spice rack, knife and utensil holder add more storage space. A floating soffit matches the shape of island and helps lower the showroom ceiling height to what would be found in a normal home. It includes: pendant lights for the snack bar, chandelier for the table and recess for task lights over the sink. The large triangular shaped island has eleven foot legs. It fills the unusual space and creates three separate areas: a work space, snack bar/room divider and table area.

In this kitchen, we updated the existing cabinets with new Cambria countertops; on the perimeter and island is 3cm Nevern and on the bar is Cambria 3cm Rosslyn. A new backsplash was also installed with 4" high decorative accent tile; Cafe Tenayo pencil liners, 3x6 limestone crema with beveled edge and 1x1 Taro blend polished mosaic behind the range. The backsplash at the bar is 5/8x5/8 glass mosaic tile. Two new pendant lights were hung over the island. A Galley Workstation 5 with 9 piece dual tier culinary kit in white, 16 gauge stainless steel 10" depth side drain sink. A Moen Brantford faucet in Spot Resistant Stainless with a Single Handle and was installed. An 18" wide glass door beverage fridge and an Air King wall mount Stainless Steel hood with chimney completed the update of this kitchen. In this picture it shows the modifications we made to the existing cabinet drawers. Since the Galley workstation is so large, we had to cut down the existing drawers to allow room for the sink to be installed. We were able to modify the drawers to maintain the integrity of the look of the cabinets, but also maintain a smaller storage area in the drawer.

This lovely Thousand Oaks home was completely remodeled throughout. Spaces included in this project were the kitchen, four bathrooms, office, entertainment room and master suite. Custom walnut cabinetry was given a clear coat finish to allow the natural wood color to stand out and be admired. My client called me in for a "Design Perspective". She hated her floors and wanted my professional opinion. I questioned whether I should be brutally honest, and her response was "absolutely". Then truth be told, "your countertops bother me more than your floors". My client has a stunningly beautiful home and her countertops were not in "the same league". So the project scope expanded from new floors to include countertops, backsplash, plumbing fixtures and hardware. While we were at it, her overly froufrou corbels were updated along with dishwashers that "drove her crazy". Since there was plenty of "demo" in store, she elected to lower her breakfast bar to counter height at the same time to connect her nook more seamlessly with her kitchen. The process: at our first slab warehouse stop, within ten minutes, we uncovered the most beautiful slabs of Taj Mahal ever. No need to keep looking. The slabs had perfect coloration and veining. So different from any other slab of Taj Mahal, it really ought to have its own name. Countertop selection was easy as was the subway and Arabesque backsplash tile. Polished chrome, with its blend of warm and cool tones, was the obvious choice for her plumbing fixture and hardware finish. Finding the right floor tile was what proved to be most challenging, but my client was up to the task. Several weeks of shopping and numerous samples hauled home led us to the perfect limestone. Once her room was complete, better barstools were in order. Hancock and Moore with their huge assortment of leather colors and textures was our clear choice. The Ellie barstools selected embody the perfect blend of form and comfort. Her new limestone flooring extends into her Butler's pantry, pool bath, powder bath and sewing room, so wait, there is still more to do.

We revamped this client's kitchen, dining area, pantry and laundry room. The homeowners cook a lot and they like to entertain, so they wanted a cleaner, more open feel. The kitchen felt cluttered, the sink was not convenient, they wanted a bar area, more outlets, smooth flooring and more lighting! We removed all existing finishes and took it down to drywall and the concrete slab and started over. We moved the sink out of the corner, installed ceiling height cabinetry giving them additional storage and all new Vicostone Graphite countertops with a contrasting Summer Drought 2"x8" glass backsplash. The water heater that was originally located between the laundry room and the pantry was moved outside, allowing for more kitchen space. Also, the footprint of the original walk-in laundry room was decreased to a laundry closet with bi-fold doors, allowing for even more kitchen space. Gaining the additional square footage in the kitchen allowed for a 6 1/2' island. The sink was moved to the longer side of the kitchen and a new window was added above the new sink, Recessed lights were added, along with a new light fixture above the kitchen table instantly brightening up this space. New Aberdeen wood floors was laid in the kitchen with new tile in the laundry room. To finish it off, we replaced the cooktop with a smooth electric cooktop and the clients are ready to entertain!
