We loved working with Amy and Design Perspectives! We were in desperate need of some updates and took a long time (over a year of interviewing professionals) to find one that we clicked with and got our vision for what we wanted and needed. Our initial project started with hardwood floors for our downstairs and removal of old tile, laminate, and refinishing of some existing hardwood in our master bedroom. Amy was wonderful at listening to what we wanted, securing contractors to do the job, staying within budget and communicating effectively with us what was going to happen and when. We were so happy with that project that we kept adding one after the other when the current one would finish because we were so happy with the end result and wanted to keep improving areas to match the new look! By the end of the project, we had new hardwood floors downstairs, a completely new and gorgeous, sleek master bathroom, two additional bathrooms upstairs completely redone-old tubs out, new showers, tile, mirrors, cabinets, new carpeting all upstairs, every part of our home repainted-on the inside and the outside, new lighting nearly everywhere-chandeliers, canned lights, fixures, etc. Granite installed in the kitchen along with new backsplash, removal of old ugly light box, gorgeous new stone flooring, all our cabinetry refinished, a gorgeous two story stone fireplace installed-a show stopper-, new crown and floor moldings, a wall taken out to open our kitchen and living area. and a redo and expansion of our pantry and laundry room to better accommodate the seven people who live here. We also had beautiful new shutters put in throughout the house and replaced hardware on all the doors and cabinets. Amy helped us secure some gorgeous art pieces for our home too. We had been in our house for 16 years and it needed some love and updating for sure. Amy was always mindful of our budget and we would talk through places we could spend a little less and areas that needed more consideration-getting the most bang for our buck! We thoroughly enjoyed working with the contractors that Amy hires to do the jobs needed and they became dear friends, as Amy did during the process. She is very down to earth, easy to work with, calm under pressure, and completely professional. Can't say enough good things about working with Amy. As you would imagine with any project of this size, there were considerable things that came up, stone not delivered as we expected, stone tile that we hated once it arrived, incorrect items delivered that we hadn't ordered, etc. Amy handled it all and worked as our advocate to get everything resolved quickly and completely! You will be in good hands no matter what type of project you are wanting to embark on. Amy stays current on the latest trends, attends many design and trade shows during the year, has contacts and relationships with so many vendors, suppliers, contractors, artisans, and other professionals that she always knew where to find everything we needed. The only sad part of the job is having to say goodbye when the projects come to an end. If we have any other projects we would like to have done in the future, we know exactly who we will use! I first chose Amy Anderson as my designer several years ago when our home was destroyed by a major plumbing leak. It was a big job which included replacing cabinets, trim, counters, flooring, rugs, lighting, furniture, accessories, window treatments, paint – the works! It was completely overwhelming. Amy is the most efficient, organized and detail-oriented person I’ve ever known. She immediately calmed my fears by putting those great skills to work managing our complete house renovation. The results were spectacular, and I loved my new house. A few years later my husband and I decided to downsize a bit. He found a sad, neglected house, built in the early 90’s that had never been updated. I told him the only way I’d agree to leave my existing home was if he’d let me hire Amy again to oversee gutting and redesigning the new house. He agreed, and I am happy to say, the results are as spectacular as my first house with Amy. On both houses, she was able to help me determine the exact look I wanted and then helped me find the perfect products to achieve that look. Amy is so talented and easy to work with. I would never renovate or decorate another house without her!
