For this client we looked at a number of designs to help them decide whether to extend or not. In the end they decided to open up the ground floor. We widened the patio doors, took down all the internal walls and created an open plan kitchen/dining/living space that the client loves.

The clients called me in to help with finishing details on their kitchen remodel. They had already decided to do a lot of the work themselves and also decided on a cabinet company. I came into the project early enough to see a better layout to the original kitchen, then i was able to give my clients better options to choose from on the flow and aesthetics of the space. They already had an existing island but no sink, the refrigerator was an awkward walk away from the work space. We panned with everything moving and a much better flow was created, more storage than needed..that's always a good problem to have! Multiple storage drawers under the range, roll out trash, appliance garage for the coffee maker and much more. This was my first time working with non custom cabinets, it turned out wonderful with all the bells and whistles a dream kitchen should have.

A new side extension allows for a generous new kitchen with direct link to the garden. Big generous sliding doors allow for fluid movement between the interior and the exterior. A big roof light was designed to flood the space with natural light. An exposed beam crossed the roof light and ceiling and gave us the opportunity to express it with a nice vivid colour which gives personality to the space.

Bespoke Handleless Shaker kitchen with the main runs painted in Little Greene 'French Grey Dark' (163) and the island in Little Greene 'Basalt' (221). The Silestone Yukon worktops are 30mm thick and one end of the island is curved. The sinks in the kitchen are Silestone Integrity Due integrated sinks and the taps are by Quooker. The grey pendant lights tie in with the grey painted cabinets whilst the black 3-oven dual control AGA adds contrast.

A bespoke, handmade Shaker style kitchen with ‘in-frame’ mortice and tennon jointed doors hung with traditional burnished brass butt hinges. This luxurious kitchen features Oak dovetailed and polished drawer boxes on soft-close concealed runners and rigid Birch plywood carcasses. All units have been factory painted in Basalt Blue from Little Greene Paint & Paper, to complement the worktops in Silestone Quartz Blanco Zeus extreme. All cup handles and knobs are in burnished brass. The range cooker is by Mercury, whilst all other appliances are from Bosch. The brassware is from Perrin & Rowe. Harvey Ball Photography Ltd

We wanted to create a space where all the family would could get together and enjoy or entertain friends. We designed a warm palette of taupes, creams and brass fittings. The quartz surfaces gave the kitchen a beautiful gloss finish with the wood panelling to the front of the island the perfect finishing and unique touch.

Returning clients are our favourite clients. The journey we have been on with these clients is we started on a smaller project, and over time they have ended up moving into their dream home on their dream property, and of course, they need their dream kitchen! Drawing inspiration from Hampton and Country styles, we worked with the client to combine these elements into this beautiful and inviting space where the family can make memories for years to come. Some of the big features like the piece of Santorini Quartzite Natural Stone in Honed Finish on the island bench and Nostalgie Series Appliances by ILVE make this kitchen personal and individual to the owners taste. There is something so humbling about a client coming back time and time again entrusting us with their next project, and this one was a great honour to be a part of.

A spacious Tudor Revival in Lower Westchester was revamped with an open floor plan and large kitchen with breakfast area and counter seating. The leafy view on the range wall was preserved with a series of large leaded glass windows by LePage. Spires Interiors recently completed this large-scale renovation project at a home in Fingringhoe, near Colchester. The project encompassed a kitchen and utility room renovation, as well as a large display and media unit for the adjoining living space. Initially, the customer was contemplating replacing their existing kitchen at the front of the property as plans to do an extension hadn’t worked out within their budget. They asked to see options for both the existing space and the potential they could achieve with their extension plan. Once they saw the extension they fell in love and didn’t want to compromise on the space they could achieve. Our design team worked very closely with the customer to achieve their dream kitchen that was once a pipedream. As is often the case, the couple had different tastes when it came to the style they wanted to achieve and each used the kitchen differently. Working closely with them we learned what they wanted and gave them the middle ground on both design and functionality. With the aim of striking a balance between a traditional and modern kitchen aesthetic, we used a simple shaker-style kitchen door to achieve a design that is contemporary, with traditional features that won't date. Modernising typical traditional elements like cornice, dresser units, and solid oak elements means we have achieved a room that is timeless. Having shorter wall units above the sink in the kitchen allows for the room to feel more open and spacious whilst providing ample storage space. The dresser unit along the side wall also offers clever storage for daily items as well as space for the display items and glasses. The appliances were key for the customer as they are avid cooks. With a reputation for excellence, they opted for a Miele oven, microwave combination, and coffee machine in the cube of appliances, as well as a Miele induction hob. The hob also features a hidden Novy extractor, which is both quiet and efficient, as well as a Fisher & Paykal American fridge freezer as the space and functionality is second to none. In the adjoining utility room, the customers had an “awkward” little space that they really wanted to utilise. Here we installed a bank of shallow larder units for optimum storage of food items to create a pantry of sorts. Though shallow there is still plenty of room for pasta, tins, and bulkier items that would take up too much space in the kitchen. They also wanted a sink big enough to clean their puppy in after long and muddy walks around the area. After investing in the space and creating such a stunning design, they felt the adjoining reception space could potentially let the room down, and therefore we designed a bespoke media unit, manufactured by Callerton, the same manufacturer that supplied kitchen and utility room units - this would ensure fluidity in finish and design between all three rooms. The drawers mirror the shaker style in the kitchen whilst the open-shelf unit is painted in the same finish as the flat doors with an oak worktop to reflect the island breakfast bar. This space really has become a social hub for the house, creating a stunning open-plan cooking, dining and living space.
