This kitchen was designed to function around a large family. The owners spend their weekend prepping large meals with extended family, so we gave them as much countertop space to prep and cook as we could. Tall cabinets, a secondary banks of drawers, and a bar area, were placed to the connecting space from the kitchen to the dining room for additional storage. Finally, a light wood and selective accents were chosen to give the space a light and airy feel.

This once crowded, dark space is now bright and organized! Maximum storage achieved! A two-tone, walnut and white shaker kitchen with modern gold accents and a distinct mid-century modern ethic that boasts a statement chandelier and Calacatta inspired tiles. Layers of texture and movement create a space that requires very little in means of décor to be elevated.

Custom built walnut cabinetry with a waterfall quartz island. The walls of cabinetry are wrapped with similar waterfall forms. Thermador appliances are set in flush with the flat walnut veneer doors.

Blending the counterspace into the wall, this white porcelain subway tile backsplash provides a smooth transition and relief to the wall space and kitchen.

My client called me in for a "Design Perspective". She hated her floors and wanted my professional opinion. I questioned whether I should be brutally honest, and her response was "absolutely". Then truth be told, "your countertops bother me more than your floors". My client has a stunningly beautiful home and her countertops were not in "the same league". So the project scope expanded from new floors to include countertops, backsplash, plumbing fixtures and hardware. While we were at it, her overly froufrou corbels were updated along with dishwashers that "drove her crazy". Since there was plenty of "demo" in store, she elected to lower her breakfast bar to counter height at the same time to connect her nook more seamlessly with her kitchen. The process: at our first slab warehouse stop, within ten minutes, we uncovered the most beautiful slabs of Taj Mahal ever. No need to keep looking. The slabs had perfect coloration and veining. So different from any other slab of Taj Mahal, it really ought to have its own name. Countertop selection was easy as was the subway and Arabesque backsplash tile. Polished chrome, with its blend of warm and cool tones, was the obvious choice for her plumbing fixture and hardware finish. Finding the right floor tile was what proved to be most challenging, but my client was up to the task. Several weeks of shopping and numerous samples hauled home led us to the perfect limestone. Once her room was complete, better barstools were in order. Hancock and Moore with their huge assortment of leather colors and textures was our clear choice. The Ellie barstools selected embody the perfect blend of form and comfort. Her new limestone flooring extends into her Butler's pantry, pool bath, powder bath and sewing room, so wait, there is still more to do.

This new construction timber lake house kitchen captures the long water views from both the island prep sink and perimeter clean up sink, which are both flanked by their own respective dishwashers. The homeowners often entertain parties of 14 to 20 friends and family who love to congregate in the kitchen and adjoining keeping room which necessitated the six-place snack bar. Although a large space overall, the work triangle was kept tight. Gourmet chef appliances include 2 warming drawers, 2 ovens and a steam oven, and a microwave, with a hidden drop-down TV tucked between them.

A 1960 split-level flat-roof mid-century modern home in Creve Coeur was creating a bit of cramp for the growing family of 4 (soon to be 5). They needed more usable space as well as an updated kitchen. Mosby designer Jake Spurgeon advocated knocking down the two walls that separated the kitchen from the dining and family rooms, thus creating a huge open space that better suits their lifestyle. One of the walls being load-bearing required the installation of a massive steel beam. Once the Mosby production crew had it in place, work on the new kitchen began. After installing all new flooring across the now-open area, the new kitchen took shape. It’s a thoroughly modern kitchen that boosts the authentic mid-century modern architecture of the home. Flat-front maple cabinets and white Cambria quartz countertops are sleek and sophisticated. The white cabinet center island with bar sink and oven has a unique feature: a “floating” upper deck of deepest blue marble, providing a futuristic feel echoed by the planetary pendant lights orbiting above it. There’s more kitchen storage and far better use of space, including a laptop desk with bench seat tucked into the kitchen proper. There’s a natural flow from kitchen to the dining area to the family room, and there’s even a section reserved for the kids’ play area directly across from the island. Book-matched ash wood kitchen by Poggenpohl Hawaii is like no other. The attention to detail provides a beautiful and functional working kitchen. This project was designed for multiple family members and each rave how much they appreciate the new layout and finishes. This oceanfront residence boasts an incredible ocean view and the Ann Sacks Tile mirror porcelain tile backsplash allows for enough reflection to enjoy the beauty from all directions. The porcelain tile floor looks and feels like natural limestone without the maintenance. The hand-tufted wool rug creates a sense of luxury while complying with association rules. Tying multiple floors together using 6”x36” dark grey wood-looking tile, laid on a staggered patterned worked well with the tile and concrete floors next to it. Two-toned cabinetry of wired brushed hickory with a grey stain wash, combined with maple wood in a dark slate finish is a current trend. Counter tops: combination of splashy granite and white Caesarstone grounded the display. A custom-designed table of ash wood, with heavy distressing and grey washed stain added warmth. Show custom features: Arched glass door cabinets with crown moulding to match. Unique Features: drawer in drawer for pot lids, pull out drawer in toe kick for dog dishes, toe space step stool, swing up mixer shelf, pull out spice storage. Built in Banquette seating with table and docking station for family meals and working. Custom open shelves and wine rack with detailed legs anchor the three sides of the island. Backsplash rail with spice rack, knife and utensil holder add more storage space. A floating soffit matches the shape of island and helps lower the showroom ceiling height to what would be found in a normal home. It includes: pendant lights for the snack bar, chandelier for the table and recess for task lights over the sink. The large triangular shaped island has eleven foot legs. It fills the unusual space and creates three separate areas: a work space, snack bar/room divider and table area.

In this kitchen renovation we installed Medallion Silverline Lancaster Cherry Cabinets with Chestnut stain accented with a Medallion Gold Potters Mill Cherry Mission arched valance 4x60 with Chestnut stain accented with Amerock caramel bronze pull. For the countertops, we installed Cambria Quartz surfacing in Bradshaw color with bullnose edge. The backsplash was created using 3x6 Durango tile with Daltile stone radiance glass and stone pieces with a pearl grout. An Elkay sink with Kohler stainless steel faucet. On the floor porcelain wood look tile in light Chocolate was installed.
