Details: A matching serving board made from a remnant of the black walnut slab was made by our carpenter as a gift. Its ‘live edge’ contrasts with the crispness of the stainless steel counters beyond.

This cozy white traditional kitchen was redesigned to provide an open concept feel to the dining area. The dark wood ceiling beams, clear glass cabinet doors, Bianco Sardo granite countertops and white subway tile backsplash unite the quaint space.

Entering this project as design consultants, much of the initial design had been executed, so our focus was on some of the smaller, detail elements. The desired feel of the house was that of a rustic, country style, so wood detailing was brought in to highlight key moments, providing emphasis on the connections of the exterior and interior environments. Alder and Hickory wood were introduced in the flooring, windows, and interior trim and were accented by the painted kitchen cabinetry, bringing a warm feel to the spaces. We added oak where the old wall was and staggered the remaining tile into the new flooring. (The tile continues into the powder room, replacing it would have meant replacing that floor also.)

Pantry storage with adjustable shelves. Custom built cabinetry constructed in sequenced matched Teak veneer. Kitchen was designed by Rob Dzedzy, and fabricated and installed by Media Rooms Inc. Hanging vintage bulb light fixture in center of room was designed and fabricated by Rob Dzedzy. Kitchen includes all cabinets fit to ceiling, soft close hinges and drawers. Every bit of space is maximized for storage. Kitchen also includes distributed video and music, and an automated Lutron lighting control system, all installed by Media Rooms Inc.

Nestled into the quiet middle of a block in the historic center of the beautiful colonial town of San Miguel de Allende, this 4,500 square foot courtyard home is accessed through lush gardens with trickling fountains and a luminous lap-pool. The living, dining, kitchen, library and master suite on the ground floor open onto a series of plant filled patios that flood each space with light that changes throughout the day. Elliptical domes and hewn wooden beams sculpt the ceilings, reflecting soft colors onto curving walls. A long, narrow stairway wrapped with windows and skylights is a serene connection to the second floor ''Moroccan' inspired suite with domed fireplace and hand-sculpted tub, and "French Country" inspired suite with a sunny balcony and oval shower. A curving bridge flies through the high living room with sparkling glass railings and overlooks onto sensuously shaped built in sofas. At the third floor windows wrap every space with balconies, light and views, linking indoors to the distant mountains, the morning sun and the bubbling jacuzzi. At the rooftop terrace domes and chimneys join the cozy seating for intimate gatherings.
