This scullery kitchen is located near the garage entrance to the home and the utility room. It is one of two kitchens in the home. The more formal entertaining kitchen is open to the formal living area. This kitchen provides an area for the bulk of the cooking and dish washing. It can also serve as a staging area for caterers when needed. Kitchen open to Dining and Living with high polycarbonate panels and sliding doors towards meadow allow for a full day of natural light. Large photo shows mudroom door to right of refrigerator with access from entry (foyer). Cabinets: custom maple with icestone counters (www.icestone.biz). Floor: polished concrete with local bluestone aggregate. Wood wall: reclaimed “mushroom” wood (cypress planks from PA mushroom barns (sourced through www.antiqueandvintagewoods.com).

Honouring the eclectic mix of The Old High Street, we used a soft colour palette on the walls and ceilings, with vibrant pops of turmeric, emerald greens, local artwork and bespoke joinery. The renovation process lasted three months; involving opening up the kitchen to create an open plan living/dining space, along with replacing all the floors, doors and woodwork. Full electrical rewire, as well as boiler install and heating system. A bespoke kitchen from local Cornish joiners, with metallic door furniture and a strong white worktop has made a wonderful cooking space with views over the water. Both bedrooms boast woodwork in Lulworth and Oval Room Blue - complimenting the vivid mix of artwork and rich foliage.

Our clients, Erica + Luca, are a power couple each running their own businesses, and for the past six years have also been social parents raising two boys. Their home sits hillside, adjacent to a green space where they have beautiful views, but limited access to enjoy the outdoors. Introspecs created an interior space plan which opens the main level rooms to one another, to both increase visual sight lines + allow separate activities to take place simultaneously. Our goal was to maintain a family-focused house with a large in-kitchen eating island + tons of pantry storage while still honoring adult cocktail hour + entertaining friends. We translated their edgy Euro taste into the finishes which beautifully dresses up the functional layout + resonates with their lifestyle.

Open shelves in kitchens make everyday kitchen items easy to access. The open shelves to the right of the sink even house a toaster and mixer that you actually want to see, along with cookbooks, glassware, and ceramics. Small hexagonal tile goes up the entire wall for an easy to clean surface.
