We touched every corner of the main level of the historic 1903 Dutch Colonial. True to our nature, Storie edited the existing residence by redoing some of the work that had been completed in the early 2000s, kept the historic moldings/flooring/handrails, and added new (and timeless) wainscoting/wallpaper/paint/furnishings to modernize yet honor the traditional nature of the home.

Lloyd and Nicola sought a kitchen that seamlessly blended with their Edwardian home's historical charm. Their style is classic and traditional, and their primary objective was to create a warm and functional space where they could entertain and socialise. Our in-frame shaker-style cabinets are at the heart of this beautiful kitchen, painted in Little Greene’s Portland Stone.

In this kitchen renovation project, the client wanted to simplify the layout and update the look of the space. This beautiful rustic multi-finish cabinetry showcases the Dekton and Quartz countertops with two Galley workstations and custom natural hickory floors. The kitchen area has separate spaces designated for cleaning, baking, prepping, cooking and a drink station. A fireplace and spacious chair were also added for the client to relax in while drinking his morning coffee. The designer created a customized organization plan to maximize the space and reduce clutter in the cabinetry tailored to meet the client’s wants and needs.

A very traditional kitchen in a beautiful Georgian home. The kitchen was designed around the Aga and an antique table as the focal points. The client wanted a calm and elegant space which felt as if it belonged to the house. The very simple cabinetry with no modern appliances on show creates a harmonious space, perfect for entertaining and family life. The traditional brass ironmongery and taps will age beautifully, as will the stunning marble tops and splashback. The shelf adds space for displaying treasured possessions and hides some practical lighting for the worktops. The modern fridge freezer is hidden in an old walk in pantry which provides space for food storage as well. The wall units which surround an existing archway to the snug form the perfect space for storing glassware and crockery.

External Mondrian door was manufactured using low iron toughened glass, this was installed to the property and finished in a black finish to accentuate the dark tones with the interior.

This kitchen was designed for a family who decided to leave life in the big city and move up to Westchester for more room. The large space exuberates a calm, clean and classic feeling. “I love being brought in as a collaborative partner with both the architect and homeowner. It becomes my job as the kitchen designer to deliver on the vision of which the architect and homeowner are dreaming” says Bilotta Designer Randy O’Kane. The details become the focus, such as in this case, using just the right fluted Bendheim low iron Pyramid textured glass with just the correct proportions. Understanding the appliances (a mix of SubZero, Wolf and Miele) and their exterior panel and space requirements is critical. Framing out each doorway while lining up all the reveals can only happen when the architect has an eye for detail. Ira of Ira Grandberg Architects focuses on how all the surrounding rooms center on the kitchen so that from every angle you see one cohesive space, interfacing with the adjacent rooms. The client had specific "asks" as it related to the door style and color as well as the range and hood (a La Canche French Range by Art Culinaire in Matte Black with Brass Trim with a Custom Hood by Rangecraft.) Kismet is when there are "just the right" number of cooks creating this amazing kitchen. The challenge for the architect was designing a larger eat-in kitchen that did not feel overpowering. With all the light coming in from the many windows they wanted to keep the space bright but not use the typical white paint and so opted for a soft grey for the custom cabinetry. They decided to forgo the cabinet and countertop surfaces on the exterior wall so that they could have a large table for the family to eat meals at together. This also brought an enormous amount of light into the space – very inviting. This transitional kitchen design in Holt proves why dramatic color schemes are becoming a more popular choice for kitchen remodels. The elegant, custom green raised panel cabinetry from Decora is beautifully offset by Top Knobs honey bronze finish hardware. The space has a slight rustic edge with the hardwood flooring, dark Cambria quartz countertop, and marble backsplash combining perfectly to add contrast and texture to the design. Black finish GE appliances add another color contrast, along with the Elkay E-granite black double bowl sink and Kohler faucet. The design includes a built-in buffet area, and upper glass front cabinets with in cabinet lighting, plus undercabinet lights throughout.
