The basement in this home sat unused for years. Cinder block windows did a poor job of brightening the space. Linoleum floors were outdated years ago. The bar was a brick and mortar monster. The remodeling design began with a new centerpiece – a gas fireplace to warm up cold Minnesota evenings. It features custom brickwork enclosing the energy efficient firebox. New energy-efficient egress windows can be opened to allow cross ventilation, while keeping the room cozy. A dramatic improvement over cinder block glass. A new wet bar was added, featuring Oak Wood cabinets and Granite countertops. Note the custom tile work behind the stainless steel sink. The bar itself uses the same materials, creating comfortable seating for three. Finally, the use of in-ceiling down lights adds a single “color” of light, making the entire room both bright and warm. The before and after photos tell the whole story.

We were delighted to paint the cabinetry in this stunning dining and adjoining bar for designer Cyndi Hopkins. The entire space, from the Phillip Jeffries "Bloom" wallpaper to the Modern Matters hardware, is designed to perfection! This Vignette of the bar is one of our favorite photos! SO gorgeous!

This prairie home tucked in the woods strikes a harmonious balance between modern efficiency and welcoming warmth. This home's thoughtful design extends to the beverage bar area, which features open shelving and drawers, offering convenient storage for all drink essentials. --- Project designed by Minneapolis interior design studio LiLu Interiors. They serve the Minneapolis-St. Paul area, including Wayzata, Edina, and Rochester, and they travel to the far-flung destinations where their upscale clientele owns second homes. This bar features Stingray skin surrounded by brushed aluminum for drawer fronts. It has a mitered edge honed black granite countertop that sits atop two metal X-shaped wine boxes with a sand through rough finish on the steel. It also features floating starphire (ultra clear) glass shelves that sit in front of fabric wallpaper. This bar features hidden LED light strips and recessed LED lights to give it a unique feel. It also features a digital in drawer climate controlled humidor.
