The bar is adjacent to the dining room and incorporates a long buffet for serving that parallels the dining table. Glasses are stored in glass-front cabinets in close proximity to the dining and living room.

Birchwood Construction had the pleasure of working with Jonathan Lee Architects to revitalize this beautiful waterfront cottage. Located in the historic Belvedere Club community, the home's exterior design pays homage to its original 1800s grand Southern style. To honor the iconic look of this era, Birchwood craftsmen cut and shaped custom rafter tails and an elegant, custom-made, screen door. The home is framed by a wraparound front porch providing incomparable Lake Charlevoix views. The interior is embellished with unique flat matte-finished countertops in the kitchen. The raw look complements and contrasts with the high gloss grey tile backsplash. Custom wood paneling captures the cottage feel throughout the rest of the home. The client wanted a stunning bar with room for a large TV and closed shelving to hide any messes. We lined the back of the bar with the same ledger stone on the TV/Fireplace wall and added accent lighting to rake across the tile. This lower level bar pairs with the kitchen stained componants, but reads as furniture rather than additional kitchen because of the warmth. This was an ideal place for a wet bar, as there is direct access to the outdoor patio, and the room is elongated and needed several functions to feel spacially correct. The custom cabinetry became the knee wall division....and a great place for barware and display at the same time.
