2019--Brand new construction of a 2,500 square foot house with 4 bedrooms and 3-1/2 baths located in Menlo Park, Ca. This home was designed by Arch Studio, Inc., David Eichler Photography

In this new working ranch home we used rustic pine siding stained and glazed for old time warmth. The hand built handscraped walnut cabinet houses all the A.V equipment. Walnut burl inside the paneling. Walnut cabinet made from local trees. Handmade wrought iron lighting, handknotted wool rug, antiqued and distressed all new custom made furniture. Large distressed exposed beams with custom made metal straps. This rustic working walnut ranch in the mountains features natural wood beams, real stone fireplaces with wrought iron screen doors, antiques made into furniture pieces, and a tree trunk bed. All wrought iron lighting, hand scraped wood cabinets, exposed trusses and wood ceilings give this ranch house a warm, comfortable feel. The powder room shows a wrap around mosaic wainscot of local wildflowers in marble mosaics, the master bath has natural reed and heron tile, reflecting the outdoors right out the windows of this beautiful craftman type home. The kitchen is designed around a custom hand hammered copper hood, and the family room's large TV is hidden behind a roll up painting. Since this is a working farm, their is a fruit room, a small kitchen especially for cleaning the fruit, with an extra thick piece of eucalyptus for the counter top. Elements of French Blue Belgian Linen, Rustic Wide & Long Plank Wood Flooring, and Super White Quartzite countertop combine to make this home into a refined Farmhouse style home. Furniture, Lighting, and Accessories were carefully chosen to add a touch of refinement to the Farmhouse feel. The custom designed 9 foot sliding barn doors were created to complement the scale of the dining furniture and fireplace.

A guest house was converted to a main house for one level living, adding an additional floor for guests. Recycled wood and antique windows were incorporated in the built-ins. Wide plank aged floors are the foundation throughout

Our second project for this thatched cottage (approx age: 250 years old) was all the reception rooms. The colour palette had been set by the kitchen project and it was our task to create synergy between the rooms but, as one room leads on to another, create distinctive areas. For the sitting room, our inspiration was private members' clubs...spaces where you can kick back, relax, enjoy an evening tipple of something smooth; listen to music, read a book or catch up on the day's news. Large leather wing-back chairs were softened by throws and copper accents. We brought through the same industrial light as the kitchen to create synergy and give a twist to the very traditional inglenook fireplace.
