Beautiful subdued elegance permeates this kitchen, with its hints of farmhouse style and gorgeous stones. The counter and large island are finished in a Brazilian granite called New Kashmir. The Farmhouse sink is a nice feature for the island. The beautiful backsplash above the stovetop is made with blue-gray hand painted Ceramic tiles, called Duquesa. The white Shaker cabinets, warm hardwood flooring and the large island all speak of the lowcountry, easy living and coastal charm. Love this kitchen!

This farmhouse kitchen design in Joelton combines rustic charm with modern design features to create a space that is bright, functional, and stylish. The space incorporates Echelon cabinetry for the main kitchen cabinets in an Ardmore door style on maple in a linen finish accented by a black granite countertop. It includes a separate beverage bar with cabinetry in a Baltic finish complemented by a Dekton countertop that gives it a distinctive look. The beverage bar includes glass front cabinets, a microwave shelf, wine storage, and an undercounter refrigerator. The kitchen backsplash is Lungarno Retrospectives, which is a white porcelain tile. This black and white farm house kitchen has exquisite detail. Each window is accented with it's own goose-neck lamp. The white subway tile has a dark grout to match the counter-tops. Behind the beautiful 48" range is a bordered herringbone back splash. The tile extends to the soffit level to create great texture on the sink wall. Meyer Design

DESIGN: Astro Design Centre - Ottawa, Canada Photo @JVLPHOTO The couple are huge traditionalist, so Astro chose a detailing in the frame that evokes a very classic feel, and beautiful detail. The darker island was chosen to break the cappuccino-coloured perimeter cabinetry up from being all uniform. This classic stained walnut island is in the centre of the kitchen - stands out, yet doesn’t draw attention away from the beautiful stove wall. That detailing added an extra personal touch to the backsplash and a bit of old world charm.

This is the main kitchen of the home. Be sure to see the secondary prep kitchen too! Rich mesquite flooring and wood beams add a richness to the space. Slate Gray painted alder cabinets mixed with those fashioned from distressed oak keep the kitchen "piecy", as if renovated over time. We varied the styles and materials to provide an historic interest. Open shelves in reclaimed oak and antique iron brackets allow for casual and "at your fingertips" storage. This kitchen used an in-frame design with mainly one painted colour, that being the Farrow & Ball Old White. This was accented with natural oak on the island unit pillars and on the bespoke cooker hood canopy. The Island unit features slide away tray storage on one side with tongue and grove panelling most of the way round. All of the Cupboard internals in this kitchen where clad in a Birch veneer. The main Focus of the kitchen was a Mercury Range Cooker in Blueberry. Above the Mercury cooker was a bespoke hood canopy designed to be at the correct height in a very low ceiling room. The sink and tap where from Franke, the sink being a VBK 720 twin bowl ceramic sink and a Franke Venician tap in chrome. The whole kitchen was topped of in a beautiful granite called Ivory Fantasy in a 30mm thickness with pencil round edge profile.
