"Vous voulez du thé?!" m'a dit Eliane? Il s'agissait plutôt de refaire toute la cuisine et de créer un nouveau coin bureau dans l'espace salon. Mais ce thé, j'aurais bien envie de le prendre, maintenant, dans ce nouvel environnement. Une cuisine agrandie et complètement ouverte sur le séjour. Un coin bureau dans la véranda, jouissant d'une belle lumière zénithale. Ça donne envie de s'y installer!

Take a look around this rural farmhouse in Alexis, Illinois that Village Home Stores was able to help transform. We opened up the layout and updated the materials for a whole new look and a nod to the great original style of the home. Laundry, coffee station, kitchen, and bathroom remodel managed from start to finish by the expert team at Village Home Stores. Featured in Kitchen: Koch Classic Cabinetry in the Prairie door and Maple Pearl finish with Umber glaze applied. Cambria Quartz in the Canterbury design. Featured in Bathroom: Koch Classic Cabinetry in the Prairie door and Maple Taupe finish. Onyx Collection bath countertops with integrated bowls in "Granada" gloss color and white bowls. Memoir series painted tiles in "Star Griege" also featured.

Originally part of the Woodchester Park Estate, Woodchester Park is famous for its main house, Woodchester Mansion. The Mansion is one of England’s finest examples of an early Arts and Craft and Gothic Revival House and features the work of a number of celebrated 19th Century academics and architects. The house and outbuildings that house the clients studios were originally part of the model home farm. Run-down, asset stripped and sanitised, it was sensitively refurbished with a design that gives a distinct nod to their original use.

A British client requested an 'unfitted' look. Robinson Interiors was called in to help create a space that appeared built up over time, with vintage elements. For this kitchen reclaimed wood was used along with three distinctly different cabinet finishes (Stained Wood, Ivory, and Vintage Green), multiple hardware styles (Black, Bronze and Pewter) and two different backsplash tiles. We even used some freestanding furniture (A vintage French armoire) to give it that European cottage feel. A fantastic 'SubZero 48' Refrigerator, a British Racing Green Aga stove, the super cool Waterstone faucet with farmhouse sink all hep create a quirky, fun, and eclectic space! We also included a few distinctive architectural elements, like the Oculus Window Seat (part of a bump-out addition at one end of the space) and an awesome bronze compass inlaid into the newly installed hardwood floors. This bronze plaque marks a pivotal crosswalk central to the home's floor plan. Finally, the wonderful purple and green color scheme is super fun and definitely makes this kitchen feel like springtime all year round! Masterful use of Pantone's Color of the year, Ultra Violet, keeps this traditional cottage kitchen feeling fresh and updated.

We knocked out the wall between the kitchen and what once was the formal dining room to enlarge this new kitchen.

In keeping with the historic nature of this 1865 farmhouse, the kitchen design was created to evoke the rustic farmhouse vibe and maintain the historic integrity of the home. Grabill stacked kitchen cabinets in Avalon Maple finish create a bright atmosphere topped by light engineered quartz countertops. The stainless appliances including a Wolf oven and farmhouse style sink with a Kohler faucet give the design an updated edge. The cabinetry pairs perfectly with the original wood floors and a Southern Pine kitchen table to complete the look.
