This 1960s split-level home desperately needed a change - not bigger space, just better. We removed the walls between the kitchen, living, and dining rooms to create a large open concept space that still allows a clear definition of space, while offering sight lines between spaces and functions. Homeowners preferred an open U-shape kitchen rather than an island to keep kids out of the cooking area during meal-prep, while offering easy access to the refrigerator and pantry. Green glass tile, granite countertops, shaker cabinets, and rustic reclaimed wood accents highlight the unique character of the home and family. The mix of farmhouse, contemporary and industrial styles make this house their ideal home. Outside, new lap siding with white trim, and an accent of shake shingles under the gable. The new red door provides a much needed pop of color. Landscaping was updated with a new brick paver and stone front stoop, walk, and landscaping wall.

Located on a beach on the San Francisco Bay, the house is conceived as a pin-wheel composition of 4 pavilions around an interior courtyard. In order to minimize the visual impact, the 900 sq mt building develops on one floor gradually stepping down towards the beach. The environmental oriented design includes strategies for natural ventilation, passive solar energy and 100% electrical energy autonomy supported by an array of 110 sq. mt of photovoltaic cells mounted on the roof and on solar glass canopies. Glass sliding doors and windows, wood slats ventilated walls and copper roofing constitute the exterior skin of the building.

Mountain Peek is a custom residence located within the Yellowstone Club in Big Sky, Montana. The layout of the home was heavily influenced by the site. Instead of building up vertically the floor plan reaches out horizontally with slight elevations between different spaces. This allowed for beautiful views from every space and also gave us the ability to play with roof heights for each individual space. 1960's Split Level needed a facelift. The Project started as a 1 bedroom & bath In-Law addition. It evolved into a Magnificent Whole House Remodel that includes a 1200 s/f Super In-Law Wing that includes 2 bedrooms, 2 baths, TV sitting area and Kitchenette.
