This Australian-inspired new construction was a successful collaboration between homeowner, architect, designer and builder. The home features a Henrybuilt kitchen, butler's pantry, private home office, guest suite, master suite, entry foyer with concealed entrances to the powder bathroom and coat closet, hidden play loft, and full front and back landscaping with swimming pool and pool house/ADU.

Having lived in England and now Canada, these clients wanted to inject some personality and extra space for their young family into their 70’s, two storey home. I was brought in to help with the extension of their front foyer, reconfiguration of their powder room and mudroom. We opted for some rich blue color for their front entry walls and closet, which reminded them of English pubs and sea shores they have visited. The floor tile was also a node to some classic elements. When it came to injecting some fun into the space, we opted for graphic wallpaper in the bathroom.

Working alongside International Award Winning Janey Butler Interiors, the interior architecture / interior design division of The Llama Group, in the total renovation of this beautifully located property which saw multiple skyframe extensions and the creation of this stylish, elegant new main entrance hallway. The Oak & Glass screen was a wonderful addition to the old property and created an elegant stylish open plan contemporary new Entrance space with a beautifully elegant helical staircase which leads to the new master bedroom, with a galleried landing with bespoke built in cabinetry, Beauitul 'stone' effect porcelain tiles which are throughout the whole of the newly created ground floor interior space. Bespoke Crittal Doors leading through to the new morning room and Bulthaup kitchen / dining room. A fabulous large white chandelier taking centre stage in this contemporary, stylish space. With lutron & Crestron home automation throughout and all new interiors.

The Antique Brass Double Doors were designed to resemble classic hotel entry doors, clad in a weathered brass finish. Each door is detailed with a historic brass push bar, resembling those used in the early 1920’s, which double as a glass guard to protect the glass paneled door. Custom moldings and panels add extra details that set this double-door a part. The entryway is accompanied with a custom brass threshold and integrated locks for security.

Project Feature in: Luxe Magazine & Luxury Living Brickell From skiing in the Swiss Alps to water sports in Key Biscayne, a relocation for a Chilean couple with three small children was a sea change. “They’re probably the most opposite places in the world,” says the husband about moving from Switzerland to Miami. The couple fell in love with a tropical modern house in Key Biscayne with architecture by Marta Zubillaga and Juan Jose Zubillaga of Zubillaga Design. The white-stucco home with horizontal planks of red cedar had them at hello due to the open interiors kept bright and airy with limestone and marble plus an abundance of windows. “The light,” the husband says, “is something we loved.” While in Miami on an overseas trip, the wife met with designer Maite Granda, whose style she had seen and liked online. For their interview, the homeowner brought along a photo book she created that essentially offered a roadmap to their family with profiles, likes, sports, and hobbies to navigate through the design. They immediately clicked, and Granda’s passion for designing children’s rooms was a value-added perk that the mother of three appreciated. “She painted a picture for me of each of the kids,” recalls Granda. “She said, ‘My boy is very creative—always building; he loves Legos. My oldest girl is very artistic— always dressing up in costumes, and she likes to sing. This fantastic foyer has a three level view through the house. The beautiful stained riser stair carries all the way to the finished basement with window seats and beautiful wainscoting detail.
