The villa kitchen provides the perfect setting. The large window over the sink looks out to a deck dining area. Stainless steel countertops are easy to care for. Warm and cool are combined by setting off the stainless steel faced cabinetry with a deep red wall, wood accents and red sisal rug. Open shelves for often-used dishware allow for convenience as well as a sense of rhythm and repetition, one of Jane's favorite motifs. The result is a kitchen that imbues the food -- and the kitchen conversation -- with lively energy.

A divided, north-facing window was changed out. The header above the window was raised, bringing in more light. The window was reconfigured to have a large, full-width window above two sliders, connecting the viewer to the site even more. This arch was echoed in the hood and the end of the island. Le projet Lafayette est un projet extraordinaire. Un Loft, en plein coeur de Paris, aux accents industriels qui baigne dans la lumière grâce à son immense verrière. Nous avons opéré une rénovation partielle pour ce magnifique loft de 200m2. La raison ? Il fallait rénover les pièces de vie et les chambres en priorité pour permettre à nos clients de s’installer au plus vite. C’est pour quoi la rénovation sera complétée dans un second temps avec le changement des salles de bain. Côté esthétique, nos clients souhaitaient préserver l’originalité et l’authenticité de ce loft tout en le remettant au goût du jour. L’exemple le plus probant concernant cette dualité est sans aucun doute la cuisine. D’un côté, on retrouve un côté moderne et neuf avec les caissons et les façades signés Ikea ainsi que le plan de travail sur-mesure en verre laqué blanc. D’un autre, on perçoit un côté authentique avec les carreaux de ciment sur-mesure au sol de Mosaïc del Sur ; ou encore avec ce bar en bois noir qui siège entre la cuisine et la salle à manger. Il s’agit d’un meuble chiné par nos clients que nous avons intégré au projet pour augmenter le côté authentique de l’intérieur. A noter que la grandeur de l’espace a été un véritable challenge technique pour nos équipes. Elles ont du échafauder sur plusieurs mètres pour appliquer les peintures sur les murs. Ces dernières viennent de Farrow & Ball et ont fait l’objet de recommandations spéciales d’une coloriste.

In questa bella cucina la nota dominante sono le belle cementine arancio. Il tavolo rotondo da quattro ha preso il posto di uno più voluminoso che è stato utilizzato nella camera della padrona di casa. Le belle ceramiche con il ciclo delle stagioni sono state collocate sopra il caminetto dalle linea essenziale, così come la credenza ora ospita i libri di cucina e tutto quello che serve per un 'ottima mise en place.

This is a before photo of the tile backsplash that will be ultimately refinished in a painted faux marble by AH & Co. out of Montclair, NJ. The grout lines will be changed as well to a lighter cream textured sand with black lava stone highlights that mimic the existing grout finish from the floor.

The cabinet doors in this kitchen were made with lath strips, old pine boards, found hardware and metal screening. Tumbled marble was used as a backsplash and mosaic inserts were made up of tile pieces, chips of pottery and fragments of colored bottles. The cement counters were formed on site and polished with wax.
