Hidden in this near westside neighborhood of modest midcentury ranches is a multi-acre back yard that feels worlds away from the hustle of the city. These homeowners knew they had a gem, but their cramped and dim interior and lack of outdoor living space kept them from the full enjoyment of it. They said they wanted us to design them a deck and screen porch; we replied, "sure! but don't you want a better connection to that luscious outdoor space from the inside, too?" The whole back of the house was eventually transformed, inside and out. We opened up and united the former kitchen and dining, and took over an extra bedroom for a semi-open tv room that is tucked behind a built-in bar. Light now streams in through windows and doors and skylights that weren't there before. Simple, natural materials tie to the expansive yard and huge trees beyond the deck and also provide a quiet backdrop for the homeowners' colorful boho style and enviable collection of house plants. This kitchen is playful, interesting and bright with three cabinetry finishes, a white herringbone backsplash, unique light fixtures and a ceiling application made from reclaimed barn wood. This design is different from what you would t typically see in a magazine these days, as requested by the homeowners.

Newly relocated from Nashville, TN, this couple’s high-rise condo was completely renovated and furnished by our team with a central focus around their extensive art collection. Color and style were deeply influenced by the few pieces of furniture brought with them and we had a ball designing to bring out the best in those items. Classic finishes were chosen for kitchen and bathrooms, which will endure the test of time, while bolder, “personality” choices were made in other areas, such as the powder bath, guest bedroom, and study. Overall, this home boasts elegance and charm, reflecting the homeowners perfectly. Goal achieved: a place where they can live comfortably and enjoy entertaining their friends often!

This chic couple from Manhattan requested for a fashion-forward focus for their new Boston condominium. Textiles by Christian Lacroix, Faberge eggs, and locally designed stilettos once owned by Lady Gaga are just a few of the inspirations they offered. Project designed by Boston interior design studio Dane Austin Design. Create Good Sinks' 46" workstation sink. This 16 gauge stainless steel undermount sink replaced the dinky drop-in prep sink that was in the island originally. Cherry cabinets from previous owner's reno were retrofitted with new quartz countertops (Midnight Corvo in matte finish seen here on the island), new sinks and faucets. Walls were painted fresh white. Two Create Good Sinks "Ardell" faucets were installed with this sink to make it easy for two cooks in the kitchen.
