This timeless kitchen is the perfect example of how rich color sets the mood. Inspired by Sherwin-Williams’ Dried Thyme, the green cabinetry brings a warm and contemporary look. The kitchen’s original layout is what attracted the owners to this home so with a few changes, the space now better fits the owners’ needs. Straightening out a wall by the large bay window provided space to move the dishwasher, and gave room to build a tall cabinet with organized pullout drawers next to the stove for easy access and storage. This also created room to build a hidden appliance garage and flipping the location of the island sink provided more accessibility to the stove. The bow front stove hood provides visual relief for the linear nature of the cabinets. Green ceramic tiles surround the porcelain herringbone tile in the contrasting niche dedicated to spices and oils, and the adjacent pot filler provides convenience. The island was increased in size to provide for more storage and metal domed pendants provide lighting for both prepping and eating. Double-wall ovens have side handles for easy opening and convenience and provide easy access in a busy kitchen area. This tiny kitchen got the makeover of a lifetime. From dated 70's red and brown to light and bright black and white (plus some turquoise thrown in). We took this kitchen down to the studs so that we could start fresh. Included in the remodel was enclosing the equally tiny back porch which gives better access into the kitchen from the back deck.

The small kitchen in this bungalow home was updated with fresh paint on existing cabinets, new quartz countertops, backsplash, hardware and lighting. The eating area was designated with an oversized pendant light for visual interest.

A wall pantry spans the entire width of this kitchen. These full-height cabinets keep everything neat by concealing a built-in coffee station and easy-to-access cupboard for everyday dishes. Deep drawers are essential to keep serving dishes and heavy pots and pans handy without the struggle associated with typical base cabinets.

A "during" photo featuring Create Good Sinks' 46" ledge workstation sink (5LS46c) in the 11.5' island. Insinkerator black airswitch to blend in with the Midnight Corvo quartz countertop.

This kitchen proves small East sac bungalows can have high function and all the storage of a larger kitchen. A large peninsula overlooks the dining and living room for an open concept. A lower countertop areas gives prep surface for baking and use of small appliances. Geometric hexite tiles by fireclay are finished with pale blue grout, which complements the upper cabinets. The same hexite pattern was recreated by a local artist on the refrigerator panes. A textured striped linen fabric by Ralph Lauren was selected for the interior clerestory windows of the wall cabinets. Large plank french oak flooring ties the whole home together. A custom Nar designed walnut dining table was crafted to be perfectly sized for the dining room. Eclectic furnishings with leather, steel, brass, and linen textures bring contemporary living to this classic bungalow. A reclaimed piano string board was repurposed as a large format coffee table. Every square inch of this home was optimized with storage including the custom dresser hutch with vanity counter. This petite bath is finished with caviar painted walls, walnut cabinetry, and a retro globe light bar. We think all splashes should have a swoop! The mitered countertop ledge is the clients’ favorite feature of this bath.

Such a fun, colorful kitchen! Very representative of East Austin's style. And who can resist the homeowner's baby exploring that lower shelf! We painted the IKEA cabinets in Benjamin Moore "Backwoods", a rich deep green. If you check out the "Before" photos, you'll see how the homeowner removed the dated backsplash tile and the upper cabinets. We also love the kitchen island with the graphic tile and the waterfall countertop.
