I never usually write reviews. However, I walked into an open house and fell in love with the decor and detail of this home. I asked the real estate agent, “who decorated this home”? They gave me the name and number of Alison Kandler. We immediately set up an appointment to meet. I was just about to remodel my entire home of which I have lived for 23 years. Alison came aboard and we started the process of my remodel which took about 2 years. Alison listened to what my vision was and created the finished product. I so love my new/old home! It looks like a complete different house. I could never have accomplished this without the help of Alison. Most recently my home was photographed for a Magazine, again thanks to Alison.

We purchased a new home in May 2019 with a close date of July 1, an Aug. 1 move-in date and a baby shower date of Oct. The 6,000 sq. ft. house was a cold empty shell (good bones but no warmth or character) and we asked Alison to furnish& warm it up with color and pattern while keeping it cohesive throughout. It was also very important to us that she stick to a timeline and budget. She did all those things. The house is warm, creative and unique to us and came in at cost allotted and, except for minor vendor delays out of her control, everything was completed smoothly and on time. Alison hit the ground running in May with colors, fabrics, wallpapers, furniture, etc. She created color boards, checked order dates, made sure subs were available and scheduled in order to be ready with a team and materials on Day 1 when we were given access. She used furniture we already owned; finding a place for them, recovering them and "decorating around them" when it was meaningful to us and then filling in new with the balance. She offers a range of price points on materials and understood our goal of splurging on the special things people see that "pop" and cutting back where it wasn't a priority for us yet, giving us the same vibe. She explained which pieces were important to invest in and where it didn't matter. Alison is a great "package"! Creative yet organized with business sense satisfying my love of unique style and my husband's love of project management. Thank you, Alison!

Anyone designer can do a white or grey home - No one can do a House of Color like Alison! We have worked with Alison twice; and both times she has given us rooms that make you light up when you walk into them! I love my rooms of color! Both my husband and I have different tastes but she was able to find a common ground that made us both happy! She is one in a million!

Alison recently remodeled our kitchen and den and we couldn't be happier. From soup to nuts -- the overall design, to the smallest detail (a light switch cover plate ) -- she pays close attention and has impeccable taste. She's a pro's pro. Alison has a strong sense of how everything should look, but what's wonderful about her, is she's a great collaborator. In the end, it's imperative that the finished design and look reflect your sensibility and taste. She was also extremely responsible about our budget constraints -- we finished remarkably close to our initial budget. Alison always presented us with options when it came to what something would potentially cost. There was no question or concern she wouldn't answer promptly -- no matter how busy she was that day. Besides having a great sense of design, she's easy-going, and a pleasure to work with. You'd be luck to get her!

The best decision you can make when decorating your new home…is hiring Alison. She is a pleasure to work with, has great taste, is highly organized and her attention to detail is most impressive. We built our new home from the ground up and brought Alison on to our project shortly after hiring our architect. She redesigned our entire upstairs, along with customizing details throughout, while addressing our needs as empty nesters. In addition, she added countless features we didn’t even know we needed and helped us with absolutely everything. She did an outstanding job and the reviews have been raves! With every new kitchen picture we saw we became more confused, not being able to determine what we really wanted. Thank G_d for Alison, she would gently smile as if you say, relax a little and enjoy the experience you are about to embark upon. Alison was able to filter all the noise and from soup to nuts implemented a beautiful kitchen for us. With her intuitive nature, she was able to home in on what we wanted without us even knowing it. She took charge of the project, coordinating everything, while at the same time listening to all of our wants. Words can't describe the value she brought to this project!!!!

Alison was amazing to work with. We brought Alison into our project after the plans for our renovation were already completed. She identified problems with the plans and worked with us to make some very important changes. Her interior design support was excellent and she respected our tastes and wishes throughout the process. She put together beautiful designs, colors and fabrics, chose flooring, lighting and furniture that completely enhanced our taste and style.
