The new Kitchen opens to a covered patio and barbecue. The island provides space for work and seating. Blackened steel and Walnut shelving with integral glass racks front a south facing. Basalt tile flooring runs indoors and out to the patio.

A smaller fridge allowed for a larger pantry on this wall. It also gave the space needed for the microwave and a coffee bar.

The Kichen Furniture This was the first octagonal framed kitchen by Tim Wood and all the kitchen furniture was free standing, some of which came out when the flat was later sold, to be re used. The octagonal island has a granite top and the other worktops are in iroko, with Gothic style drainers either side of the double French farmhouse sink. The plinths have recessed oak dovetailed drawers set on hidden runners. All the insides of the cupboards are finished in zebrano. The Flat This zebrano and oak Gothic style kitchen was designed for a flat in Palace Court, London that was previously owned by Rodney Fitch the designer and was converted by Tim Wood from one very large flat into two in 1988. Condos are often a challenge – can’t move water, venting has to remain connected to existing ducting and recessed cans may not be an option. In this project, we had an added challenge – we could not lower the ceiling on the exterior wall due to a continual leak issue that the HOA has put off due to the multi-million-dollar expense. DESIGN PHILOSOPHY: Work Centers: prep, baking, clean up, message, beverage and entertaining. Vignette Design: avoid wall to wall cabinets, enhance the work center philosophy Geometry: create a more exciting and natural flow ANGLES: the baking center features a Miele wall oven and Liebherr Freezer, the countertop is 36” deep (allowing for an extra deep appliance garage with stainless tambour). CURVES: the island, desk and ceiling is curved to create a more natural flow. A raised drink counter in Sapele allows for “bellying up to the bar” CIRCLES: the 60” table (seating for 6) is supported by a steel plate and a custom column (used also to support the end of the curved desk – not shown) ISLAND CHALLENGE: To install recessed cans and connect to the existing ducting – we dropped the ceiling 6”. The dropped ceiling curves at the end of the island to the existing ceiling height at the pantry/desk area of the kitchen. A u-shaped kitchen features two islands. The center island has clipped corners and includes a prep sink. The subzero refrigerator is paneled and a hidden pantry is incorporated to the right of the refrigerator. Medium walnut stained cabinets were paired with granite that features a ton of movement with browns, oranges, and grays.

This kitchen features bamboo cabinetry, concrete countertops with inlaid coins, cork flooring, and a wood panelled ceiling to create a sustainable family room.

A large kitchen was laid out in a circular pattern with two islands. The second island includes a raised height area for six bar stools. Medium stained walnut cabinets were used with a granite with a lot of movement. Stacked stone was used behind the floating shelves. The soffit was stacked up towards the ceiling to add visual interest.

Custom cabinets are featured in this kitchen: alder wall cabinets and pantries with recessed-panel doors, combined with horizontal rift-oak base cabinets that have slab doors and drawers. Corian was used for the "working' countertops, with quartzite used for the tabletop, wall cap, and backsplash inserts. Custom LED lighting used in the recessed trayed ceiling and for task lighting. The kitchen has several special features, including see-through cabinets installed in front of windows, to maximize the daylighting on the north side of the home. Inspired Imagery Photography
