These are new pot drawers placed where it was a desk. The wood was matched to the existing cabinets.

This kitchen proves small East sac bungalows can have high function and all the storage of a larger kitchen. A large peninsula overlooks the dining and living room for an open concept. A lower countertop areas gives prep surface for baking and use of small appliances. Geometric hexite tiles by fireclay are finished with pale blue grout, which complements the upper cabinets. The same hexite pattern was recreated by a local artist on the refrigerator panes. A textured striped linen fabric by Ralph Lauren was selected for the interior clerestory windows of the wall cabinets. Large plank french oak flooring ties the whole home together. A custom Nar designed walnut dining table was crafted to be perfectly sized for the dining room. Eclectic furnishings with leather, steel, brass, and linen textures bring contemporary living to this classic bungalow. A reclaimed piano string board was repurposed as a large format coffee table. Every square inch of this home was optimized with storage including the custom dresser hutch with vanity counter. This petite bath is finished with caviar painted walls, walnut cabinetry, and a retro globe light bar. We think all splashes should have a swoop! The mitered countertop ledge is the clients’ favorite feature of this bath.

A smaller fridge allowed for a larger pantry on this wall. It also gave the space needed for the microwave and a coffee bar.

Our clients came to us ready for a change. Fraley & Company had worked with their neighbors to update their kitchen a few years back, and we were thrilled for the challenge to work on a very similar kitchen layout. We imposed the challenge on ourselves to make this project completely different from the previous home, while maintaining the character that our newest clients so much appreciated in our previous remodel. We gave the kitchen and half bath a facelift, and then decorated the rest of the house with all new furniture and decor, while incorporating her unique and funky art and family pieces. The result is a house filled with fun and unexpected surprises, one of our favorites to date!

The Ballard Haus is an exciting Passive House design meant to fit onto a more compact urban lot while still providing an open and airy feeling for our clients. We built up to take full advantage of the extra sunlight for solar gain during the winter, and we crafted an open concept floor plan to maximize our client's space and budget. Part of the goal of the Ballard Haus project was to create a design that could be used in a multitude of urban settings as we get ready to expand our reach into prefab Passive House options.

This East Lansing eclectic kitchen design offers an inviting environment, perfect for daily family use and hosting guests for intimate gatherings. The warm wood kitchen cabinets from Medallion Cabinetry are perfectly complemented by a dark Cambria quartz countertop, Top Knobs hardware, and Sonoma Tilemakers decorative backsplash. The cabinetry includes excellent storage options like corner cabinet storage and a waste bin pull out, plus upper glass front cabinets with in cabinet lighting. The new refrigerator location is still accessible to friends and family, but it's now far enough from the main work spaces they can take in the view without being in the way.
