Photography-Hedrich Blessing Glass House: The design objective was to build a house for my wife and three kids, looking forward in terms of how people live today. To experiment with transparency and reflectivity, removing borders and edges from outside to inside the house, and to really depict “flowing and endless space”. To construct a house that is smart and efficient in terms of construction and energy, both in terms of the building and the user. To tell a story of how the house is built in terms of the constructability, structure and enclosure, with the nod to Japanese wood construction in the method in which the concrete beams support the steel beams; and in terms of how the entire house is enveloped in glass as if it was poured over the bones to make it skin tight. To engineer the house to be a smart house that not only looks modern, but acts modern; every aspect of user control is simplified to a digital touch button, whether lights, shades/blinds, HVAC, communication/audio/video, or security. To develop a planning module based on a 16 foot square room size and a 8 foot wide connector called an interstitial space for hallways, bathrooms, stairs and mechanical, which keeps the rooms pure and uncluttered. The base of the interstitial spaces also become skylights for the basement gallery. This house is all about flexibility; the family room, was a nursery when the kids were infants, is a craft and media room now, and will be a family room when the time is right. Our rooms are all based on a 16’x16’ (4.8mx4.8m) module, so a bedroom, a kitchen, and a dining room are the same size and functions can easily change; only the furniture and the attitude needs to change. The house is 5,500 SF (550 SM)of livable space, plus garage and basement gallery for a total of 8200 SF (820 SM). The mathematical grid of the house in the x, y and z axis also extends into the layout of the trees and hardscapes, all centered on a suburban one-acre lot.

Add flair and fun to a space by displaying this unique patchwork rug. This work of art is composed of different original rugs, knotted together for a stunning result. Colors range from dark wine red to bright azure; neutral greys and beiges help balance out the piece. This handmade rug was produced at the RugKnots facility in Pakistan, and is made of pure wool for ultimate quality and comfort. It would look lovely in a kids' room or casual family room. We embrace collaboration: Working with the incomparable Agnes Bourne, we created a residence at once rustic and rare, in concert with its surroundings. The one-of-a-kind palette featured reclaimed timbers, Montana moss stone, custom furniture in leather, mohair and linen plus pops of crimson.

Traditional lines meets contemporary style in this updated eat-in kitchen. Pops of orange on the cabinets, chairs, pendant lamp, and striped feature wall as well as the red, circular tile backsplash bring modern-day touches to the otherwise traditional silhouettes found in the space. This drama filled dining room is not just for special occasions but is also used every day by the family. With its mirrored wall extending the space and reflecting the breathtaking chandelier this dining room is exceedingly elegant. The pop of orange-red with the chairs and artwork brings this elegant space to life and adds personality to the space.

This is a smaller Lake Joseph cottage that we designed for a lot that had severe lot coverage restrictions.Taylormade Design (Stephen Taylor, Rebecca Hay) created these fabulous interiors .

One of the many creative features used in this Yankee Barn Homes post and beam addition is on display in this photo: the stair balusters are made from real copper pipe, a nod to the copper piping on display in the horse barn.

We opened up the dining room to make it a fresh, warm and welcoming space, using Farrow & Ball's Red Earth. The industrial-style concrete pendant hangs over where the dining table will be placed. The skylights and the sliding doors opening to the garden have increased the natural light in the area and improved the room's brightness. Renovation by Absolute Project Management
